Sarah, Hagar, Rebekah, Leah, and Rachel. We know their names. Now here are their eye-opening stories: Sarah mistreated her servant, Hagar despised her mistress, Rebekah manipulated her son, Leah claimed her sister’s husband, and Rachel envied her fertile sister. Oh my.

Yet, God cared for them, protected them, and blessed them — not because of their goodness or perfection, but because of His. What hope that offers imperfect us! Verse by verse, we’ll discover that God’s well of patience is deep, His grace is abundant, and His faithfulness knows no bounds.

Does the Lord love us when we fail Him? Love us when we’re unlovable? When others reject us, is God’s love enough? Yes, yes, and positively yes!

Our ancient sisters from Genesis demonstrate how much God loves his chosen daughters and why His righteousness alone makes us flawless: “without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless” (Ephesians 5:25-27).
