God is Good. All the Time.

Praise God for His Goodness

Years ago, when my family gathered around the dinner table, I was the one who said grace. Not because I knew the Lord, but because I knew this simple prayer:

God is great, God is good,
And we thank Him for our food;
By His hand we all are fed,
Give us, Lord, our daily bread. Amen.

All through my childhood, I spoke these truths, even before I understood them: God is great. God is good. Indeed, He is a “great God, mighty and awesome” (Deuteronomy 10:17). And He created things that are “pleasing to the eye and good for food” (Genesis 2:9).

But, above all, He is goodness itself.

the Lord is Good

Comforting thoughts, in a world gone bad, gone wild, gone mad:

  • “Whatever happens, His goodness is always present.” —Carolyn
  • “He is so good, and cannot do anything that is not good.” —Lynn
  • “Out of sorrow and tragedy, His goodness shines through.” —Amy

Last week, I saw His goodness on display.

I was waiting to board a plane for home, when a conversation caught my ear. “May I escort my new friend to her seat?” I turned to see a young man with a kind smile bending toward an elderly woman in a wheelchair.

“Sorry, but I’ll need to do that,” the flight attendant explained, as she pointed the wheelchair toward the jet way.

Clearly disappointed, he said good-bye, then watched the older woman head for the plane. “Good talking to you, ma’am!” he called out. A moment later, he reclaimed his seat and said to no one in particular, “Some people are so nice.”

“Like you,” two people said in unison. Smiles were exchanged, and a warm glow settled on those who were close enough to witness the uncommon scene.

When we do good deeds, they’re really God deeds. His goodness, His mercy, His kindness pouring through us. Tempted as I am to take credit whenever I manage to do something right, I know where the prompting — and the power — comes from. He alone deserves the praise.

God truly is good. Yes, all the time.

Some memory verses to remind you of God’s goodness:

  • “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him” (Psalm 34:8).
  • ”For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations” (Psalm 100:5).
  • “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him” (Nahum 1:7).

Heavenly Father, in a world that grows darker by the hour, Your goodness remains a beacon of hope.

Luke 18:19

When we do “good deeds” it is like being the face of Jesus. It is our honor, privilege, and obligation as believers. The fruit of the spirit should be in our daily lives. It is what I teach my boys age 6 and 10.

    • Cheree Waring July 29, 2015 at 8:34 pm #

Goodness is one of the many attributes of God. It is part of His very character. Hence He cannot act in any way that is not good because then He would be changeable which we are told He is not in Malachi

Nahum states in chapter 1 verse 7, that the lord is good. It continues to amaze me that this good God loves and cares for someone like me who is not good. He not only loves and cares for me , but He sacrificed His life on the cross, to forgive me, cleanse me from my sins, to make me a part of His forever Family. Who is like this Good God?

God’s goodness is seen all around us in his creation. The colorful and beautiful flowers, the glistening waves on the ocean, sunrise and sunset, all his creatures big and small, and especially in a baby’s smile. I can’t look at any of this without thinking of our sweet Lord Jesus, the creator of all things.

Because of His goodness, I am saved through Jesus.

God is true love and He is ALWAYS good! He expresses His love through each and every one of us in smiles, waves, hugs, and words. We are His messengers. Let God’s good overflow to everyone we meet !

The Goodness of God. I try to find good each and every day,in my actions and the actions of others, in my words and in my daily life. I want to see others as my Father sees them, through my Fathers eyes. When I remember this, I see good everyday everywhere, and that good is my Father God,yes He is good, all the time.

Losing my Dad almost 24 hours ago has taught me that God has shown me His goodness even unto death. The last verse in the 23rd Psalm says “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” My Dad is finally home and praising His Father and I know I will see my Dad again because of the goodness of God.

God is good because in the midst of my chaotic life, He steps in. He humbles me with words from an elderly lady (with Dementia) entrusted to my care. I was feeling lousy, and this elderly lady shouted out “Praise Jesus, He is Good ALL the time!”
Dementia can’t rob her of Jesus. She reminded me how Great our Savior IS!

In all of our despair of being uniquely different; painfully overweight, (beautifully designed, I should say!) and challenged by my own aloneness, I have seen a Good Great God bring the completeness of wholeness to my soul. He warms us tenderly each and every step of His journey with us. He alone, works out our completeness and finishes what He starts in us. Beautiful in every way.

By the hands and feet of every Sister-in Him, connected to me today, has brought me Life in an extraordinary way. The use of your work, daily, is being used to bring life back to many of us. Gratitude to our Good God for “hand” selecting the finest women to do your good work!

Above All, we Love our Good God for all He bestows to us everyday. Thank you Liz for offering this daily bread to us, today.

Thank you for the beautiful message. I saw God in action this week. My daughter’s air conditioning went out here in Louisville. They have no money to repair it right now and the temps are in the 90’s. Their neighbor said he had just received a bit inheritance and wanted to pay it forward and pay for the repair. Yes, he was good but God worked thru him to show his goodness. See you at Spencer Christian Church.

Yesterday, at 6:14am, something happened to me, that was satan’s doing, that tried to destroy my name and others. So I clung to Jesus and the friend that counseled me said, “margaret, GOD can bring good out of any situation!!!!” And GOD did!!!!! I would be in a horrible state of mind and heart, if GOD had not come to my rescue!!! Praise His Holy name forever!!! then I opened up my email from Liz Curtis Higgs and boom! There she was to remind me and encourage me today!!! I am so thankful that i know her…

      In Jesus, margaret

Yes, God is good. Many times, most times difficult circumstances get us to the point of finally shouting no matter what “GOD IS GOOD”. At the end of the day all we have is Jesus. He has the words of eternal life “GOD IS GOOD”
Thank you for your words of encouragement.

    • Barbara Vick July 30, 2015 at 12:07 pm #

Thank you always for your encouragement. We certainly need it today.

So many things are going on in this world that are certainly not God pleasing. In fact, I fear that He must be angry.

To copy form the hymn, my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and rightness. God is in control, no matter what.

Sometimes when on the “mountaintop” and all is going well, physically, mentally, financially, and most of all spiritually, we see the Lord work in I see the Lord of Love working in my life as I go forth doing “deeds” by faith,
then comes the valley’s and I see the Lord more and more, a little bit more clearly as HE lets me see myself and my need for HIM and then in the valley HE shows up as a person who is in need of anything and in the Valley I see HIM speaking to me to help this person or persons….and I wonder for a moment only, how can I do this, but then I see HIS wonderful love for me, and the “work” through Faith IN HIM comes alive, and much can be done for the person or persons….then in thanksgiving to HIM, I arise and “come up higher” and see my LORD in A NEW LIGHT!

The goodness of God… a good deed, a smile or kind word to a stranger or a friend. A helpful hand in a time of need. Paying it forward. Prayers for family, friends, and those we know need prayer but are afraid or don’t know how to ask for it. Uplifting words….all the goodness of God shining thru his people.

I thank God he has allowed me to live this long… just like gold is purified in the fire, so it is with my ongoing journey finding, appreciating, loving Him. No man, woman, child, living thing is “good”. Only the One who has made us all!

God is always good. It is so easy to see when things are going as we want. When we look back at tragedies in our lives and can see the goodness that came out of that, that is very special.

God is good all the time, all the time God is good. When evil seems to be winning, we can rest in the fact that God is good and His goodness will one day prevail. It is His kindness (goodness) that leads us to repentance when we see all His goodness toward us in Christ and in not giving us what we deserve, but rather the riches of Christ. How comforting to have a Father who is intrinsically good!

  15. Beverly July 29, 2015 at 7:22 pm #

Yes, God is good all the time and all the time God is good. I’ve been widowed almost 16 years and despite a drastic change in income, He has never failed me yet! I know that He is my comforter, my shelter, my all in all. I praise and thank God that He is so faithful!!!

In the midst of all the bad times and troubles in our lives, God is always there with us just waiting to show his goodness in some way.

  21. DORI July 29, 2015 at 7:27 pm #

The Goodness of God to me is ….the core of my christian faith. It is because of His desire for my good that He provided salvation through His son. Everything God does is for my good. I can see proof of the goodness of God all around me in the life-sustaining provisions He supplies—from crops that provide my food, to the very air I breathe. I can have goodness in me, and even desire to do good, but true goodness comes from the One who is perfectly good and wants good things for all people. My goal is be to show the goodness of God to others every day.

  23. Diane July 29, 2015 at 7:30 pm #

Good must come from the word God. It is us paying God’s good works forward with love and kindness to our fellow man. Goodness is the end result. Love how you show us the way through humor and creativity.

  24. Gina July 29, 2015 at 7:30 pm #

“God being good” means to me that his intentions are always good. In other words, bad things will happen to us. It’s one of those promises that we don’t love. However, everything that touches us, touches him. Whatever God allows, his motives are always pure. He is not a vengeful God that desires to hurt us. His promises say that he desires to give us a good plan and that he means everything for good (even bad stuff). It is sometimes hard to swallow when the hurt wrenching pain of life tries us. But once we learn about his character, it’s hard to doubt his goodness. Yes, he is a good God, because he loves his children. In fact, he loves the whole world. Thank you Jesus for loving me.

God’s goodness means peace of mind and peace of heart even in troubling times and circumstances. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me…” means that I can be the one God uses to bring His goodness into a sitation. All gliry to Him.

God listens to all of our prayers. Sometimes the answer is yes. Sometimes the answer is no. And sometimes the answer is : I have something better. This is what I love most about God. He always knows what is best for us, even when we don’t. He is good because He provides for us by giving us what we need, not necessarily what we want.

To me, the goodness of God means that when this fretful daughter is worrying and despairing and Chicken Little-ing herself into one fantastic tailspin over life, He shows up with tender words and solid truth-comfort. Instead of beating His chest and roaring to remind me He is powerful enough to handle my life, He rises to show me compassion. He is a good, good Father.

What a beautiful thing to remember – God is good! To me it means that He always wants what is best for me – even when I don’t know what that is or even when I don’t see His hand in it till later. I tend to think that I know what is best and admit that I often let God know how He should do things (hopefully I am not alone in this.) But if I just rely on the fact that God is good, I can trust His guidance for my life.

Can’t wait to get a copy of this book but am wait till I get to see and hear Liz teach about these very truths in November. If I win, I will be sharing it with a special friend.

God is good all the time…..all the time God is good! This is one of my favorite thoughts as I go through a day. I never fully understood this until my dearest friend lost her 18 year old son and my daughter lost her best friend! I have stood by them both as they struggle to find peace in their day, and I seem to always be able to catch a glimpse of God in their strength! It is a beautiful sight! Cherish each day and love on those around you every chance you have…no one ever knows when God will call us home! God bless!

The goodness of God means EVERYTHING. He has saved me from MUCH. His grace is truly amazing. It is so humbling to really grasp how much he loves even me and His goodness and faithfulness is everlasting with no strings attached. Truly amazing.

Knowing our God is the promise and light of this dark world is such a comfort to me. I am not always the person I should be, but I still feel His spirit of peace and am assured that he will always love me.

God has been so good to me that if He never did another good thing for me, I couldn’t complain

  66. Laura July 29, 2015 at 8:37 pm #

God is good all the time, unlike me, the sinner, who is washed by his goodness daily, sometimes hundreds of times throughout the day when I don’t deserve it. Gods loving nature and his grace provides for us a window to see all the good in the world that we may not see when focusing on the bad. Gods goodness is our promise for all time. I Believe and follow only his Word, because my God is good…all the time.

God’s goodness to me means that no matter how circumstanves seem, He sees, He knows and He will take care of me. <3

When I started to lose my vision and didn’the know how great the loss would be, God’s goodness helped me to have the faith it would be okay even if I lost it all. Thankfully, that did not happen and He has used my vision loss to help others.

I just came back from a short term missions trip to Bolivia. One of the opportunities we had was to be part of a “baby washing” in the city. We bathed children and then combed and braided the little girl’s hair. An older women motioned to me to please come and braid her hair. I was humbled and felt God so profoundly speak to me that by doing this I became His hands and feet to this dear woman. A chance to “Taste and see that the Lord is good….(Psalm 34:8). God is so GOOD – ALL the time!

God’s goodness reveals himself to me in a firmness, a resolve that isn’t within my power. It is doing something nice for people in secret with the understanding that the result is none of my business. It is a rich and full life. Finally, it is knowing John 10:28 “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

God is good in allowing me to rise up each morning without pain or ailments. His mercies are renewed each and every day and I am glad that I can walk in that promise.

Praise Jesus – this is the second time today He has reminded me of His goodness. He really spoke to me about this on a camping trip. He and I were talking about my son flying for the first time by himself (6th grade). He spoke to my heart and said no matter what happens, He is good. All of the time. Him speaking that to my heart that day helped me when I let my daughter fly for the first time by herself two years later. Now they are much older, but God is STILL good. All of the time. He abounds in steadfast love. Psalm 103. May God richly bless all those who read your blog. And richly bless you, Liz, as God has blessed me through you and your sweet devotionals and books.

What an uplifting message today. God is good all the time. If we are still and let him shine through us his goodness will show through us…not because of us BUT because of Him.

I know Gods goodness, getting out of a house that was struck by lightning and living in a hotel for 90 days, God was in control and His goodness was shown after the fire.

A verse I can hang on to in any situation and any day –

Numbers 23:19 ” God is not a man that he should lie, nor a son of man that he should repent. Has he said and will He not do it? Or has He spoken and will he not make it good?”

God is dependable and good and is there for me in any trouble or any daily situation – so good!

God’s goodness means His consistent love, mercy and grace even when we are undeserving!

Forgive me Lord for the times I’ve doubted Your goodness, You are good, through and through.

    I trust in Your goodness!

  80. Julie July 29, 2015 at 8:58 pm #

Liz, you are so correct, God is SO VERY GOOD ALL THE TIME!!!! Even when He closes a door; and humanly it seems like everything has fallen apart, not sure how bills are going to be paid, let alone food purchased, the next *moment* He is showing His grace, mercy and Love! Out of *nowhere* doors begin opening, people share what they have without a second thought, and not only do bills get paid, but bonus’ are overflowing at just the right times! I believe that nothing happens by coincidence, and everything that does happen, happens for a reason. What someone might mean for harm (like Satan wanting to harm God’s CHOSEN children), GOD means for good, so that we can bring glory and honor to His name. Shouting it from the roof tops GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!! ALL THE TIME!!!!!! So, if a door has closed in your life, take it from our personal experience – HANG ON to your Faith, and TRUST in God!!! He’s got you in the palm of His hands and He is NOT letting you go!!!!!

God is so good he shuts doors to open bigger and better doors for us to go through. We might not seem it that way at the time but God knows exactly what we are to do in our lives. God blesses us in such ways that totally astounds us when we sit and think about it. God is so good he has been blessing my life left and right here lately. He does no harm, he does what we are afraid to do for ourselves by making us move to the next level. God is truly great.

God is Good all the time, all the time God is Good. How great it is to have such a forgiving, just, and loving God. He is my anchor daily. Always there when I need Him. I have had issues in my life that I couldn’t handle on my own. I prayed about them but the hurt and negative thoughts wouldn’t stop. I finally gave them over to God. How Great He is. He took them for me and I now live a so much more positive life because of Him.

God is good … this is my story and my song. I’ve had two serious surgeries to remove tumours in my spinal column. The complications were (and are) very life altering (which is ongoing) He is good. There is no way I could have embraced my medical challenges without know that He is good and His grace is sufficient.

I really needed this Liz. I had a rough day today and was feeling very low. I have been having exceeding difficulty in dealing with my current work situation. I applied for a new, full time position today and was interviewed on the spot. I am waiting to see if I get a call back. I desperately want to change jobs and this will be a step up for me financially since my current job is only part time. My current boss is becoming very hard to work for . I feel like a doormat, but I just continue to bite my tongue and take whatever is dished out because the job market is so limited where I live. I prayed both before and after applying for this new position and many of my family and friends are praying for my situation as well. I know God answers our prayers according to His will and in His time and He is very good, ALL the time. Thanks for the reminder!

God’s goodness! I am reminded so often of His goodness and grace for me, especially when I have disappointed Him or not followed through on something I said I would do. He continues to love me and fill me with His grace and goodness even when I don’t deserve it. Oh how I love Him. I serve an awesome, loving, kind gracious God.

  92. beth July 29, 2015 at 9:16 pm #

Through His love and mercy, He works all things together for our good. All things means all things…even when we don’t understand how they are good, He does. Even when we don’t see Him in it…He is. God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good.

  93. Donna July 29, 2015 at 9:17 pm #

The goodness of God is beginning each day sitting with Him and then venturing out praying that in some way I can let his love and goodness shine through me. I so don’t deserve God’s presence in my life but he graciously guides and directs me and fills my life with joy beyond anything this world has to offer. Praise God for his goodness of taking this sinner and filling her full of his goodness to share with others. Oh that everyone would be filled up and overflowing in God’s goodness. The goodness is that God is still waiting for those who don’t know him yet.

The goodness of God means that I can believe God – that the promises in His word are real, true, and something that every believer can rely and depend on daily. I have learned this truth in many powerful ways the past three years as my husband and I fought his cancer together and even as we lost that battle – I know that even though I don’t always understand God’s plan, it is always what is best for me – that He loves me, is faithful, and will never leave me. I’ve learned that God can bring light, peace, and even joy at the darkest times of our lives if we only trust and believe Him.

It’s hard in the midst of life’s busy-ness and trials to focus on God and His Goodness, but if we don’t, we will miss out on all the blessings He has for us. Because of His Goodness, He shelters and protects us. We will still have trials, and will still have wounds, but we are in the eye of the storm where God is. There is centeredness and peace there that only come from our Good God.

Your simple meal-time prayer is the same one I was taught as a child, and the same I am teaching my grandchildren. A moment before I read your post, I read an email regarding the simple song Jesus Loves Me. As I read these I am reminded that we have been blessed by these simple songs and prayers that teach us of God’s love and goodness at a young age, and now at age 55 I realize that, indeed, if I never heard another song or prayer, these alone are the gospel in a nutshell. God is Great, Good, provider and He loves us. Amen!

God’s goodness is everywhere. From the moment we wake up till we close our eyes for sleep, His goodness is all around us. Every good and perfect thing comes from the Lord! God’s goodness gives me peace and calm in a world turned upside down. God’s goodness gives me a baby’s cry, the clouds in the sky, even the breath I breathe. God’s goodness gives me everything that matters!! God is my goodness because He is GOOD!

I have seen so much of God’s goodness lately. I see His goodness everyday in the little things and am so thankful. However, over the past few weeks I have seen His goodness in huge ways. A young woman pronounced brain dead brought back to life and full recovery after the prayers of faithful women! Another woman whose prognosis was grim with cancer now has no cancer in her body! I love that He is always with me and always good.

Thank you for your posts. I don’t always comment but I always enjoy them. Looking forward to reading your new book!

God is so GOOD when He can take a wrech like me and turn me into something good and allow me to be used as His embassador for His son Jesus Christ and use me for His Kingdom and allow me another chance to prove to Him that I am a child of the most High God!!! Where I can be the salt and light to others and share my testimony on how He changed me and He keeps molding me to the image of His Son…all I can do is smile and laugh at the devil because I no longer serve a father of lies, I serve the Most High God and I am a representative of His son Jesus Christ…
    Hallelujah!!!!!

I had an encounter this afternoon with a homeless man. I ran to the local WalMart to grab something for our weekly covered dish supper at church. I walked up to the deli, and this man was standing there staring at the food. He began to ask me if I knew how much certain items cost. I told him that the food is sold by weight. He told me he only had $2.00 so he couldn’t get much. He also told me he was starving he was so hungry. This man, I could tell was homeless, never asked me for a penny! He was just hungry! He lifted his shirt and showed me incision marks all way down his abdomen. He recently had surgery, his stomach looked as if he had a small basketball inside, he told me it is a hernia. He said he sleeps on the sidewalks around town in this terrible heat! I felt the Lord speaking to me, and I bought this man food. When I drop away, he was sitting on the sidewalk eating what I had bought. I have thought about this all evening, and pray that he will be okay. I am so thankful that God has blessed me to be able to help others. It is a sad world we live in, and it breaks my heart to see people living like this. If you will, say a prayer for this man. I pray for his health and him being out in this heat. I also pray that he knows Jesus….

To me God’s goodness is in his ‘God winks’. Those moments when things aren’t going so well, maybe a little down, then something totally wonderful happens, just a little thing, but it brightens the day because I know it was from God, and it was just for me, no one else around, made special just to show me how much He loves and thinks of ME!

God goodness is knowing He’s been with me in and through a storm in my life for the past seven years of unemployment, watching a spouse go down hill with physical disabilities, and experiencing uncertainty on every side. At first every time I started to worry, I’d hear the Lord ask, “Do you trust Me?” And this many years later, He has strengthened me and sustained me through some very bleak times. But God . . . I have trusted and have seen God’s goodness, faithfulness and love extended to me in a multitude of ways. I have God’s peace that passes all understanding, and I know the joy of the Lord is my only true strength. Like Paul, I am learning that my circumstances can be pretty messy. But I do not have to be downcast. No matter what, I am content and believe God’s peace is one of the greatest gifts I enjoy in the midst of trials. And my goodness, I have grown spiritually. Praise the Lord! Yes, God is good ALL the time! Thanks, Liz, for your continued encouragement! Love you!

God’s goodness is everywhere in everything. It’s in the sunrise, the sunset, trees, flowers, animals. He created everything. That means there is good in everything including us. His goodness makes this world beautiful. His grace gives us life after this world.

God’s goodness to us, His children, is what helps us get out of bed every morning, face this fallen world and be a light to our family and relatives. His goodness lets us know what He has prepared for us for eternity. His goodness to us also encourages us to share our salvation with others so they too will know His goodness. Thanks.

The goodness of God means to me that no matter what God is good and will work out any situation. My husband recently got convicted of a crime that he did not commit and was sentenced to 25 years. I am Gods kindness in lots of people during this hard time. I know God will work is out for His good and that all will be better and further the kingdom of God which is our real purpose of this Earth. I try to let let God’s goodness flow from me all the time especially with my three and six year old.

Clinging to this truth brings joy to every day, in every circumstance. If God is good, all the time, then I have no reason to worry, fear or doubt. There is always something to be thankful for, something to rejoice in. When we look for blessings in each day– and they are always there– it gives us joy, peace, and freedom from worry.

God is sooooo good, because I am sooooo not. He loves me even when I don’t love me. He loves His world that He divinely created even when it turns it’s back on Him and He is grieved–yet still–God is good. Yes, good all the time. So I love Him. I also love that book Liz wrote and that serving tray! 🙂

Psalm 27:13 says ” I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

Yes God Is Good All The Time. Everyday I experience this truth and reality, daily feeling His Presence. In February 2015 I was scheduled for a hysterectomy. But the day after I scheduled the hysterectomy because the doctor said I would continue to bleed and it would get worse. The next day God told me ‘I’m going to heal you’. Later that day all symptoms went away. I cancelled the surgery. A week later God said to me ‘ You are Healed’. God is Good All The Time. The Great Physician. I lost a child in 1973. But God Is Good All The Time. Last week through the prayer of a healing saint my heel (damaged in a spinning class at the health club when my bike locked up) was healed instantly. God Is Good All The Time. Praise Be to God The Father, God The Son and The Holy Spirit.

The goodness of God means that I never have to be concerned about God’s motives towards me. Out of His goodness He chose me to be His child. Just as I would never do anything evil to my children, God would never do evil toward His children either. What a comforting, empowering feeling!

I love that you are an ‘encourager’,as they seem to be a very rare breed in the Churches I’ve been a part of *(as a Believer for over 43 yrs now),and I find that so very sad..and that is why the knowledge that God Is Good, and God is sovereign is what I hold on to,as He alone never ‘changes’! God is so good. I once had a teacher at church who told us that every time that we saw her. Things may not always be so, but she was praying. On a more personal note, my class at church is finishing your Ruth study. You have brought to our attention how God is good and how He works in and for everything!! Thank you for what you do for us!!

Gods goodness means He is always there, even when I fall.

  142. Sandra July 29, 2015 at 11:32 pm #

The Lord our God is good; His faithfulness endures forever. We have no goodness of our own; how wonderful it is that our heavenly Father credits us with the goodness of Jesus because we are His children whom He loves beyond measure! God is Love.
Thank you, Luz, for always reminding us of His goodness & love.

God’s goodness means I’m forgiven and am redeemed. It means that because of that I can relate, sympathize and encourage others who have and or going through similar circumstances. So instead of judgement and shame we can rejoice in our forgiveness and comfort like we have been comforted. It means even embarrassing and sad things can be changed and used to His glory. I am so grateful God uses me as me and not a perfect legalistic plastic Christian.

God is good all the time; all the time God is good! Thanks for sharing the lovely flower photos and for your words of encouragement and faith. I greatly enjoy your devotionals and books.

  145. Denise Ward July 29, 2015 at 11:39 pm #

God’s Goodness is like everything else about Him ~ ~ it is perfect. It is not a learned behavior; it is the Essence of Who He is. And I’m thankful that you’ve used the childhood prayer in this message. Even though we believe them, we tend to rush through the words “God is great. God is good” without fully appreciating the magnitude of their meaning. He is GREAT (powerful, holy, without beginning or end, omniscient) and He is GOOD (merciful, gracious, tender-hearted, patient, forgiving)! I hope I never rush through that prayer again.

  146. Jean Higginbotham July 29, 2015 at 11:50 pm #

Psalm 100 says, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” God says nothing can pluck us from His hand. We can be assured that we are totally secure as His children and that His goodness and mercy will follow us every day of our lives and we will live forever with Him.

Like you remembering this little prayer, I think of singing “Jesus Loves Me” and I still get cold chills when I sing it and think of the words even now. He is Good and He loves ME!

God being good – all the time – means never having to worry about Him being bad, negative, against us, or ever being wrong! We can trust Him whole-heartedly with our whole lives with no fears, as this world gets darker an darker.
Loved this Liz! Can’t wait to read your book!
    Blessings!

Isn’t it so comforting to know, this Great God who is so GOOD, is merciful as well! I’m thankful for such a loving and caring God. I’m so not worthy of all He has blessed me with, but to know He loves me so much that He gave his life so I might live with him eternally? It just gives me the warm fuzzies!

“God will open up the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, and you will not have the room to receive it!” Micah 3:10 (paraphrased)

God is good, in the little things and in the big things.
He blessed me when we met once here in Las Vegas at a women’s retreat at my church. I have followed you ever since and love your books. You brighten my day and remind me to keep looking up, and looking at the good in myself and in other people. When God prompts me to do the out of the ordinary things, he reminds me that I may be down, but others have it worse, and I need to brighten someone’s day. Thanks for being my shining star in a dark world. Thanks again Liz.

It’s wonderful to know that God is good all the time. That allows me to trust Him, knowing that he’ll never do anything that’s not the best! Even if I don’t understand His ways, it’s enough to know He’s in control and that all things work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

  158. Stephanie July 30, 2015 at 5:39 am #

Thank you for the beautiful reminder. Our God is my hope. He sustains me daily, seeking His will. I love the memory verse shared “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge inHim.” What a powerful promise. Blessings to you and your ministry.

God is good. He shows His love to His children every day, all day. His plans don’t always coincide with our plans and desires but His way is always going to be best. His goodness shows in the way He loves us, how He answers our prayers. It amazes me to know that He loves me so much, even though I haven’t always done as I should towards and for Him; He loves me anyway. He is true and faithful and forgives me and gives me another chance every time. He has blessed me abundantly in may ways. He is my Father and I love him.

  160. Patty S. July 30, 2015 at 5:41 am #

Since God is good I can find that goodness in any and every situation of my life, not just the situations I deem as good. Sometimes I may need to look hard at where God has placed me, but His goodness is there. It is a treasure when I can see through the mucky murky waters to find the diamond of God’s goodness hidden within.

  161. Belinda July 30, 2015 at 5:54 am #

God’s goodness means that even though I may not see it now, I know it is there. No matter what I am going through, I know that He means it for my good, not harm. It gives me something to focus on rather that the situation that I am going through. It is the hope that holds me up T above the rising tide. It is the raft I cling to when the storm is threating to sweep me away. Thank you Lord for your goodness!

Thank you for sending your blog to me. What a blessing it was to me to have met you at the Bible Baptist College Conference in June. In a world with so much corruption and where so many people are just looking out for number one, it is truly refreshing and encouraging when our Lord reminds us we are not walking alone but that no matter what, He is always with us and that we have many Christian sisters standing with us, standing up for Jesus. I count it a blessing to pray for you and for all my sisters. Thank you for sharing your God given talents with so many. You are making a difference in this world. May the Lord continue to bless you!

God is good all the time and all the time God is good. I love that expression that is sometimes shared at a church service, but it is also a reminder in a fallen world of the consistent goodness of a loving Heavenly Father.

To me, the Goodness of God means that He will never give up on me. So many times have I felt his love and presence even when I don’t deserve it.

  169. Anita Lindeman July 30, 2015 at 6:53 am #

I like to think of the goodness of God like taking a bite of a sweet peach. You long for it, you anticipate it’s goodness, but until you take that first juicy, mouthwatering bite, you really have no idea of it’s goodness! God’s grace and God’s goodness is so much like that. Until you come face to face with it, you can’t even describe it fully. Love your posts and love how you bubble over when you share about our loving God.

  170. Joanie July 30, 2015 at 6:57 am #

For me, the goodness of God is evident when I (sometimes reluctantly) give over control of my wants and worries to Him. And then He shows His faithfulness in ways I don’t expect.

  171. Carrie Minor July 30, 2015 at 7:09 am #

God is so good. His goodness is what I strive others to see in me so that they too may know of His love. His goodness to me is what fuels me to try to do good to those around me

  172. Jan Gardner July 30, 2015 at 7:14 am #

I love thinking of good deeds as God deeds, so much more than taking credit for thinking of them myself!! It’s nice to have God deeds pour out of me — feels great doesn’t it? It’s good to be His Princess.

  173. Sunshine July 30, 2015 at 7:15 am #

God’s Goodness covers all the sin in me, His Goodness overwhelms me, envelops me. His Son needed to be Good, Pure, Perfect to be sacrificed, so my sins, so scarlet they are, can be turned white as snow. I rest in that Goodness. The enemy wants me to feel guilty, ashamed, a lost cause. But I can turn to God’s Goodness and accept forgiveness, love and know that I, not good on my own, am His Beloved. That is Good! That is Great! God is Good! God is Great!

What a sweet gift that God IS good all the time – it’s His character. I am so appreciative that despite my falls, He lovingly, picks me up, comforts me, and encourages me. It’s a joy to my heart knowing that everything that comes into my life is for my good and His glory. My initial reaction may be to one of disappointment, fear, anger, sorrow but…it’s in these times that I can lean into Him and I learn more of His heart for me – that He IS good! Thanks so much, Liz!

I’ll never forget the nurse that came into the CCU as my father lay dying. She asked him if he wanted her to sing to him. He could only nod through all the tubes, but she responded with the voice of an angel as she sang, “How Great Thou Art.” I knew Jesus was in that hospital room that day, ushered in by that sweet, precious nurse. Along with her, she brought the peace that only flows from the goodness of our God.

Remembering that goodness is one of God’s attributes is key. It is in that knowledge that we can really accept that He is good ALL the time–even when we find ourselves in rotten circumstances. He IS good and He’s working ALL THINGS for MY good! Praise Him!!!

  179. Sandi July 30, 2015 at 7:29 am #

God is good. All the time. Sometimes just saying those words aloud reminds me that no matter what is going on in my little world, the Creator of that world is constant and nothing will happen to me today that He can’t handle. Thanks Liz, for your constant encouragement.

God is Good! Recently, I have been going through a really stressful time related to my employment. Daily I went into work wondering if this would be my last day on the job. A devotion I heard earlier this week said, “(thankfulness) will also cushion the impact of trials when they come against you”.

  191. Julia July 30, 2015 at 8:13 am #

We often greet each other with “God is good all the time” and respond “All the time God is good”. What a wonderful reminder to us each day of the love and care God has for us no matter what is going on in our lives.

    Goodness of God…..
He never ceases to provide “aha” moments in times of confusion and frustration. He provides beauty when things look bleak, He provides Grace when frustration flares, He provides peace when pain lurks. He provides comfort when loneliness hits, He provides shelter when the storm rages on.
Those are some of the ways I see His goodness.

Thank you for this beautiful post! God’s goodness to me means God is good, even when life on Earth is not. His beauty still surrounds us when humans create ugly. Today would have been my brother’s 40th bday, but he is not here to tease about being ‘old’. God’s goodness has helped me with the painful loss. God’s goodness reminds me my brother is with Him, waiting for me. God is still good, for always and in all ways. His goodness always shines, even in dark times. A beacon of hope indeed!

  202. Sarah July 30, 2015 at 8:48 am #

The goodness of God means to me…receiving a $50 bill from a couple a church just in time to pay my light bill, a surprise card in the mail (real mail!) with words of encouragements for me from a far away friend going through her own difficult times, that just right sermon/hymn/devotion at that just right moment, having a stranger become a friend in a matter of minutes.

  203. Janean July 30, 2015 at 8:51 am #

Hebrews 13:1-2 Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Kindness undoes me. We may never know how an action of ours, big or small, might impact a life for eternity. May we shine our lights for The Lord and be His hands and feet on Earth, even at the grocery store. God cares about the least of these and sees us both from the outside and the inside. God knows hearts.

  204. Claudia July 30, 2015 at 8:51 am #

This TRUTH needs to become part of us, ingrained, …second nature…for when times are not good and trouble seems to overwhelm us we remember and KNOW our never-changing God always IS good!

  205. m.kimmel5@verizon.net July 30, 2015 at 8:52 am #

GOD IS GOOD. Such a simple, yet strong and ageless truth.

  207. Melinda Ward July 30, 2015 at 9:00 am #

I remember when I would do “good” for the applause and accolades of people (groan…) which lead to disappointment when my expectations weren’t fulfilled. Over the years God has worked (hard!) in me and it is an absolute JOY to serve Him by serving others. In fact, my ‘tag line’ on my catering business cards is ‘Serving Him by Serving You.” Now, I actually get embarrassed when given praise, and just give the praise where it is due!!!

  208. Cheryl July 30, 2015 at 9:01 am #

God demonstrates His goodness thru His faithfulness to us. He never leaves us to face anything alone. When my daughter was killed in a car accident, I was totally overwhelmed with grief. I couldn’t eat, sleep, or pray, but God never left me. He brought me through that season and continues to work in my life. He is so good to me! Praise His holy name!!!

  209. Patty July 30, 2015 at 9:09 am #

Thank you, Liz! I needed to be reminded of this today. It helps to focus my eyes and my heart on Him. For all that he has done for me and my family, for his constant love and care, I am thankful! And just like you said, our Lord is definitely goodness itself! God bless! I’m very excited to start getting your weekly emails!

  210. Danna Perello July 30, 2015 at 9:09 am #

I recited the “God is Great” prayer as a child also. When teaching it to my granddaughter one day, the profound truth was magnified within me “God is great, God is good”, truly He is! So much more than a simple verse to recite. Also, I was impressed with the realization that I was passing that truth down to the next generation, and I trust that my granddaughter will in turn pass it on to the generation after her.

  211. Connie July 30, 2015 at 9:11 am #

Thanks for this message this morning. We are going through a dark time in our lives as our daughter is seeking meaning in an unsaved young man. It feels sometimes as though God is not listening, but I am reminded that even in the seemingly mundane interactions with her, He is working.

He has a plan for her and He will be faithful to complete them. God is truly good all the time.

  212. Kathy July 30, 2015 at 9:14 am #

God is good! He holds us upp even when we don’t feel it. He always directs our paths. I am amazed when things are bleak and God has already started changing our attitude or our plans. I thank God for being so good all the time. Especially this week as we put my mother-in-law in a nursing home. Sad day, but we have done what we could. We don’t hold the power to change it. But after three and a half years… God has blessed us with special times.

  213. Debi Detroyer July 30, 2015 at 9:14 am #

God is good all the time, ALL the time God is good! I fail my Lord, yet he is there all the time to lift me up. “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” None of us are righteous, but through Christ and because of his love and goodness, we are redeemed.
Thank you Liz, I needed this. Blessings my friend, Debi

Whenever I see all of the amazing gifts that God has bestowed upon me all I can see is the “Goodness” of God.
Jesus has truly given me ” Beauty for Ashes” God is Awesome and his redemptive power has just overtaken me with so much joy. My heart swells with gratitude when I think of the Goodness of God. I was in the grips of Satan, bound with a heroin addiction, destined for death but ” God”. When my child looks up at me and tells me ” I love you…mommy” I’m overwhelmed with God’s goodness:)

God’s goodness is all around us and within us. Even when we are blinded to it. Satan loves to keep us from seeing it. Lord give us eyes to see your goodness to us.

  218. Charlotte Shaw July 30, 2015 at 9:28 am #

It is out of the goodness of God that He would send His only Son to die on the Cross in order to rescue us from death to life everlasting.

  219. Debbie Mitchell July 30, 2015 at 9:29 am #

God is good even when the unthinkable happens. We have a little 5 year old at church who, when she was 4, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. The treatments made it got into remission for three months, but it has since reappeared. It is so very hard to see her go through this, but we know that God loves her more than anyone on earth and we have to remember that, no matter the outcome.

  220. Nora Abel July 30, 2015 at 9:40 am #

When we are doing good deeds we are taking our eyes off of ourselves and we are being the hands and feet of Jesus.

  221. Marilyn July 30, 2015 at 9:44 am #

God is good and I am sustained by this thought each time I see an act of kindness or a thoughtful deed, but even more so when I hear someone say “I don’t see the sense of praying”. I know that person is still loved by our generous God.

  222. Cheryl July 30, 2015 at 9:51 am #

God fills my soul with reassurance of His prescence. He knows the perfect time to create events in my life that force me to examine my heart and see what’s really hiding there. He fills that hole in my heart that always says “I need attention, I need love, I need acknowledgement. He is always there in the dark times as well as the good times, offering me a hand to hold on to. I am His child and he always knows exactly what I need. He loves me!

  223. Carol Adkison July 30, 2015 at 9:57 am #

The goodness of God….so many things come to mind. I think of how he protects my children and grandchildren daily; He provided my husband and children jobs to put food on the table. He takes care of us in the good times, and he comforts us in the storms, even the little daily thunderstorms. I know that no matter if I stray away for awhile, and come back, head bowed in shame, that He is there to lift up my chin, forgive me and welcome me back into his arms. It gives me great comfort to know that in this increasingly crazy world, God Is In Control.

God’s goodness is His everlasting love and grace to me. It is my example
of the how I must treat others. So thankful I can look to His goodness when the world fights against it♥

Your words always inspire me! I was able to see you at Women if Faith the last time y’all came to Des Moines & enjoyed it so much. I think we get so busy & focused in what we are doing that we don’t take the time to be in the moment and notice others– what a wonderful blessing that young man was to all of those around him. He had the light of the Holy Spirit in him. Love this story!!!

Even when it seems like my world is crashing in around me, the knowledge that God is good is a beacon of light, strengthening me. While I may not be able to see the “good” in the current situation, I know that God’s goodness will eventually shine through.

Your words of wisdom brought to mind a wonderful chorus, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days, all the days of my life;….what a promise!

God is good all the time. What an amazing statement. I just had to repeat them to the man in my life, a long distance relationship, who is going through a not so smooth time. So Liz, your reminder of this is so timely because as you said about the world getting darker, God’s light and love are ever more needed…
The goodness of God means everything to me!
    Congratulations on your new book…

Thank you for the reminder. It’s so easy to get caught up in our little day-to-day problems and forget how good and gracious our Lord is.

  234. Chris July 30, 2015 at 10:59 am #

God is good, because God is Love, and Love conquers all. No matter how we feel, what is going on around us that may be depressing, we are loved all the time! I need to focus on this daily, and some days minute by minute! I’m enjoying learning about another woman of the bible, our Queen! thank you Liz I love how you share God’s word!

  235. Judy White July 30, 2015 at 11:00 am #

God is good all the time! All the time God is good. He can never be anything but good. His love is perfect, His grace and mercy are perfect, He is always faithful, keeping His promises. He gives me exactly what I need, when I need it, to help me be more like His Son Jesus. To help me be good. He gives me far more than I ever deserve, including forgiveness for my sins and eternal life with Him.

  236. Dianna July 30, 2015 at 11:09 am #

God is good. All the time. A family member is going through some tough times and that means I’m traveling those times, too. And God is good and He’s seeing us through. How many chances I’ve gotten to say those 3 words lately. What a daily reminder it is just to hear those words and for someone to agree. (Oh, and this morning the lily I planted last September had it’s first blossom of the year. Even more special ’cause it’s a reminder of a special friend who passed away last August. The lily came from his yard.) God is good.

GOoDness. God is in goodness because He is goodness! In this life, there are so many trials, troubles, disappointments, and discouragements. However, I have found that God uses those “downs” to shine His goodness, His hope, His love, His salvation, His peace, and His promises. He is faithful. No matter how dreary things may get, He is still God. He still remains. He is still near. And, He is forever GOoD!

  238. Kim Villasenor July 30, 2015 at 11:36 am #

Grace – the love and mercy given to us by God because God desires us to have it, not because of anything we have done to earn it. This is my belief and salvation!

  239. Nette July 30, 2015 at 11:47 am #

God’s goodness to me means that He loves me and is standing by me through everything, even when I am struggling with myself and fighting against trusting in Him.

    Liz,
There is nothing so good as God’s love for us. Zechariah 3:17 says it best.” The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy, he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.” God is such a loving Father. He holds my heart.

God’s goodness is around me always, not only in the things I see daily, but in his provision for my smallest of needs. No matter how small or how large I can trust in him to provide everything.

My Dad passed away 12-23-14 about 7 1/2 years after my Mom. They were my neighbor. So we put their house up for sale in early February. I’ve been praying for God to send us a buyer. No offers until Thursday, July 23rd. My brother and I counter offered and they countered. A couple more times and we accept on Saturday evening, July 25th, our parent’s wedding anniversary. My daughter said it was our parent’s confirmation that all is OK. God IS good all the time. All the time God IS good. Now just praying inspection and closing go smooth. OH wait, God IS good, ALL THE TIME. ?

At Thanksgiving 2014, my husband, age 62 was diagnosed with younger onset Alzheimer’s Disease. We were devastated! We had just begun to attend Gun Lake Community Church in Wayland/Bradley, MI. I was craving a Women’s Bible Study and found yours! We did “The Girl’s Still Got It”. Your Bible Study (especially the video’s) and the faithful women in the group made me laugh, until I cried! We then went to see you at Gull Lake in early June, shortly after I had shoulder replacement surgery. I wasn’t going to miss you AND YOUR MESSAGE just because of a little major surgery. GOD is GOOD! He sent the ladies and you (although you didn’t know it) into my life at just the right time. Life is good, just one day at a time!

  248. Patricia July 30, 2015 at 1:51 pm #

I love the story about the young man on the plane! Don’t you just get a blessing out of people who do good things through the prompting of the Holy Spirit and don’t want recognition for it?
I enjoy all your devotional Thank you for them?

i have just lived through the worst year of my life. If it wasn’t for God’s goodness I believe my world would have fallen apart. I injured my left arm and could barely move it, my precious 16 year old fur babies passed away six weeks of each other, I went through a total hysterectomy because of possible cancer cells ( praise God it wasn’t cancer!) and the list goes on and on. But one single verse brought me through it all. Joshua 1:9 was that verse. I knew that promise that God would be with me would bring me through and it did! Thank you God. I am now healthier, happy and just been appointed as leader of my church’s Ladies Ministry.. To God be the glory!

Throughout our lives, God teaches us that we have two choices. We can take the road of pity for ourselves or the one that says things could be worse. For a period of time I chose pity as my companion. It was a sad lonely way to travel through life. But as I began to listen to God’s voice telling me that His plans were good for me and He had my best interest in mind, I knew that there were reasons for the bad stuff. And as the years have gone by, He really has shown me that the bad turned into good, and life would not have carried on the way it has, had the bad not happened. He really has turned the bad into good. God really is good all the time, even when we think He is against us. I’m happy to say that God is such a wonderful God…all the time!

  251. Marbara Stivers July 30, 2015 at 2:40 pm #

God is good all the Time

He is our provider and our healer, He is our beacon in the storm, He loves us unconditionally no matter our temperament, He brought us the Holy Spirit to guide our step, and He is the same Yesterday, Today, and Forever.
As 1 Corinthians 13:13 states Faith, Hope, and Love and the greatest of these is Love. In our baby steps of faith God is our hope as we walk through the challenges of life, after we have met a few we begin to trust in Him more and more and our faith develops, walking in faith through many seasons we begin to understand His love and we walk that out as we meet the storms of life, His love strengthens us when we are weak, His love once understood helps us to love those that may seem unlovable, His love is what we can walk in so we know that we know He will meet us at every step along the way.
He will never leave us nor forsake us, God is very very good all the time.

As I get ready to lead the service on Sunday, I needed to be reminded of God’s goodness. As we look at God’s demand for justice and our role in this world of injustice, I need to remind people that God is a God of goodness. I especially like your reminder that whatever good I do, comes from the goodness of God, from God himself, not from me lest I should boast. Thank you for sharing your thoughts so faithfully and scripturely Liz.

The goodness of God to me means that he is always there for me. He is not a liar , he will not fail me or any of my family members. He always gives me sighns that all things – my worries will be taken care of and that all my sins are covered in his goodness – Jesus’s blood. God’s goodness is the fact that he chose to sacrifice himself in between two ” criminals”. We are all criminals if we really think about it . We steal God’s TIME , money, AND ALL OTHER RESOURCES He Gives TO Us ALL To LOVE To show HIS Goodness TO all. The miracle ..he forgives us !! He walks with us through the deepest valleys he has all our tears he knows all the hairs on our heads we are all tattooed on his hands !!!! God’s goodness = he actually just loves us and wants to love us more to be able to show his love through us to save the lost souls so none should perish . That is God’s goodness to me. He will go that extra million miles to obtain salvation. He uses us. God bless you all !!

Because God is sovereign, we can trust in His goodness in the darkest of times. As He used the evil of Calvary as part of His good plan for those He died for, so He will use any evil that attends our lives for our ultimate good too. We can trust Him in this.

Liz, When the rush of life and the news shows always seem so negative, it’s wonderful to stop and see our awesome God reflected through the kind acts of others. You were so kind and loving at She Speaks and I want you to know it meant the world to me. God’s goodness is most evident to me when I stop looking at what I wish I had but don’t and focus on what I have that I don’t deserve. God has so blessed my life, which is not to say it has been easy or free of heart-break, but He has been holding out His hand to me through every up and down. In the movie “God’s Not Dead” one of the characters always says, “God is good all the time” and a 2nd character responds with, “All the time, God is good.” Love it!

God is absolutely good all the time, even in the bad times. I have learned some of my greatest lessons in the midst of serious struggle, I have learned much about myself personally, about my need for God and where I need to grow in wisdom and humility. I have heard it said by a very wise and dear friend “don’t waste your suffering” and now I understand what it means, even our suffering has a value.

A friend of mine was recently commenting on God’s goodness and the fact that we don’t often recognize it as such. This summer has been very rainy, and the rain had caused the cancellation of several of her plans, which prompted her to get frustrated. Last week, she decided to go berry picking and easily picked more than enough berries to bake several pies. She realized that the rain God had sent was what provided the plethora of perfectly ripe berries and thanked God for His goodness despite her initial lack of appreciation. Even when we don’t readily recognize it, God is good!

God is good all the time! It just simply gives me peace. God has blessed me in so many ways everyday.

God used me this week to perform a good deed that required my money, time, and courage! I was so blessed by obeying, but humbly reminded of that old saying, “but for the grace of God go I. ” I was thinking about God’s goodness to me for quite awhile that day.

God certainly is good–all the time. I am learning to see this goodness even in the hardships, which is a new way of thinking for me. I recently ‘discovered’ you, Liz, and am so very thankful for your wisdom! This book looks GREAT! Love & blessings…

It means I get to start over every day. Even every hour when necessary. It means I can trust Him no matter what.

God is good all the time, even in dark hours. I was able to travel 6,000 miles to see my mom before she passed away in June. Although it was a very hard trip for me to make, I knew that God was with me all the way.

The definition of good flows from the very character of God!
He can NEVER be evil. I LOVE that about Him.
He is always FOR us, not AGAINST us.
    Praise be to God!

I have been blessed to see Liz at a couple of events. She helps me see that I am so loved by God and I can and should lean on Him! Thanks Liz for helping me see this!

Yes, He is good! I’ve seen him work in my life to bring more than I could have asked for or even imagined, especially during two rough patches. I’ve been facing another life-altering, tough decision-making time for the last several months that is still going on. If I had let the enemy have his way, I would be a nervous, fearful wreak, but God (don’t you just love that phase “but God”?), in His goodness has bathed me in His peace and comfort. I know beyond a doubt that He’ll come through this with me just as He’s done in the past. His goodness and mercy don’t change or fail! Praise be to the LORD!!

God’s goodness means to me that we get to witness His large and small miracles, His beauty in the world and love and kindness in others which nourishes our souls with the knowledge of His power. We also get to give Him the glory when we chose to display His goodness in our own words and deeds. He is so good that He sent His only son as our Savior, giving us the way to Him, which is so amazing!

For the past 5 years I’ve been taking care of my elderly parents and at one time they were both is different hospitals expected to die but I laid my hand on my dad and prayed to God to let me have a little more time with them. Well our great Father in heaven did just that. He gave me another year with them both until I was ready to let them go. I buried them both 5 months apart with much appreciation for the extra time God gave me. I thank Him for the answered prayer. Our God is good.

God has truly been good to me. He has blessed me far beyond my understanding, and he’s also been there to help me cope with all of these blessings! Right now I am struggling to adjust to the place God seems to want me, and to be graceful and joyful while I answer his call.

Reading these comments revealing the LOVE we have for our Father and showering praise and thanksgiving on our creator lifts the heart and spirit and in unison we sing…..and we are lifted high by a host of voices….praising…….

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, holy holy is He.
Sing a new song to him who sits on Heavens mercy seat.

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, holy holy is He.
Sing a new song, to him who sits on Heavens mercy seat.

holy, holy, holy, is the lord god almighty.
who was ,and is ,and is to come.
With all creation i sing ,praise to the king of kings
you are my everything and i will adore you.

Clothed in rainbow of living color.
Flashes of lighting and roles of thunder.
JESUS your name is power ,
breath and living water such a marvelous mystery.

As I studied my SS lesson from Rev 4; I was reminded again, how good God is and that no matter what I am faced with, He is in control if I trust Him completely. Goodness is one of the fruits of the Spirit, when we remove self and depend upon Him His goodness shines through us. Thanks!

I have children from my Sunday school class on my mind and I think through them I see how God is good. Also, in our church, we have a saying in the Sunday school program: God is good all the time and all the time God is good! They are on my mind tonight because I love teaching them, they are eager to learn and they are so sweet and want to share little bits of their lives with me! God is good!

Very moving story! I just love when simple kindness and care is so beautifully expressed…and in this case it was noticed and appreciated. Yay! Sometimes all we have to do is be a little more thoughtful, slow down enough to connect, and we can change the world. I’m inspired. Lord help me to be an instrument of your Love and Goodness!

I know God is always with me. There are so many times I feel Him, I see Him, I hear Him, I experience Him in my life.
I trust Him to take care of me. I put the future in His hands. He is good. He is love. He is the whole reason for my being.

God’s goodness and grace is what gives meaning to my life. Without it, my life would be so dark. Thank you Lord for your love!

God is good ALL the time and I am so thankful that He is. When I think about the times that I am NOT good, not kind, and just in a yucky mood, I am more grateful than ever that our Heavenly Father above NEVER has a moment of not being good. And how wonderful to know that our God, full of love, kindness and goodness loves a mess like me even when I am not good and can never be good enough to be loved by Him. Praise God! Yes, He is good!

  334. Kayleigh August 5, 2015 at 9:33 am #

God’s goodness is something I have had to cling to a lot lately. I think we often use the word “good” to mean something like “okay-ish” or used as our automatic response to a passing “how are you?” However, when we are describing God’s goodness, it is the epitome of the purest form of Good. He is all good, all the time. He is the lack of darkness. I get choked up every time we sing “You Are Good” by Kari Jobe.
“You are good, You are good
You are good and Your mercy is forever”
Such simple words that hit with such a powerful meaning. God’s goodness is everything. It is the light in my darkness. Through all things, happy and sad, God is good.

God is good all the time. All the time God is good. That phrase is spoken frequently by our Youth Pastor. Do we believe it? As I have gotten older I’ve learned to ponder this saying often. I AM guilty of not believing it during the tough times. Yet grateful looking back that HE is good to us even during those trials & tribulations. HE carries us through & helps us endure. AND I have learned to look for those little things during the hard times that make it bearable. The BIGGEST thing I think of…I did not HANG on the cross, JESUS did & WOW! look what he endured. I can surely pull up my big girl panties & endure the troubled times for the short time we are here on this EARTH.
