I know, beloved. It’s May, not November, the month of Thanksgiving. But here’s the thing: we’re called to give thanks every day of every month of every year.
Why not right now? Surrounded by flowering dogwoods, redbuds, and lilacs, suppose we offer up a fragrant aroma of praise to the One who loves us so.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. Psalm 107:21
Let them give thanks to the Lord… Psalm 107:21
The psalmist was definitely on fire when he wrote these words, because he repeated the same call to action four times – in verses 8, 15, 21, and 31. “Oh that men would praise the Lord” (KJ21).
We can hear an exclamation point, even if we don’t see one. And we can feel the power in the Hebrew word used here, yadah, which means “to throw down.” (So contemporary, right?) We’re to throw or cast our confession, thanksgiving, and praise in His direction. Not simply think about it — do it.
And what are we thankful for? You know.
…for his unfailing love… Psalm 107:21
Yes, absolutely. His “gracious” (ISV) and “faithful” (CEB) and “steadfast” (ESV) love. It never fades, never falters, and never fails. When fear burns in our hearts, He extinguishes it with His love. When we lose our way, He leads us home.
The much-cherished Hebrew word hesed is often rendered as “lovingkindness,” a truth that blossoms with mercy and tenderness.
God’s love is more than how He feels toward us. It’s all the things He does for us.
…and his wonderful deeds… Psalm 107:21
I love the word wonderful (especially on Wednesdays), but “awesome” (ISV) and “amazing” (NET) are equally sublime ways to describe His “works” (KJ21) and “wonders” (CJB), His “miracles” (EXB) and “marvels” (WYC).
Do you shy away from the word miracle? Is it a bit much? A tad over-the-top? I felt that way in the early days of my journey with Jesus. Now I use the word with joyous abandon, knowing we are surrounded by God’s miraculous deeds, just as His Word promises: “He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted” (Job 5:9).
We may not count each one. But God does.
When a child is conceived, it’s a miracle. The fact that it happens unseen and unbelievably often — worldwide, about 250 times every minute — doesn’t make conception any less miraculous. When that child is born, when life in the womb becomes life in the room, another miracle unfolds before our eyes. Wondrous!
God’s millions of miraculous deeds have one wonderful purpose.
…for mankind. Psalm 107:21
Sisters, don’t let mankind give you pause. God’s wonderful deeds are poured out for men and women, for “humanity!” (CJB), for “people!” (NET), and especially “for those he loves!” (TPT).
So many exclamation points. So many miracles. So many reasons to give thanks.
Today let’s say with the psalmist, “You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples” (Psalm 77:14). Lord, for all the wonderful deeds we see and all the ones we miss, we give thanks with our whole hearts.
Our special giveaway for May was this lovely floral wreath sign, 12″ by 15″, made of Baltic birch wood with a gentle reminder to give thanks. Congrats to our three winners: Regina, Pamela and Juli. You are still welcome to scroll down and share what you are giving thanks for today.
Meanwhile, at the Higgs house, we’re giving thanks for 26 years at Laughing Heart Farm, as we prepare to sell our home to a fine young family. Thank you, Lord, for bringing just the right buyer to our doorstep, and letting us enjoy one last spring amid the blooming beauty of Your creation.
Thanks for joining me for another Wonderful Wednesday!
Your sister, Liz
P.S. If you missed our May 1st Wonderful Wednesday on Facebook LIVE, watch and/or listen as we meet Phoebe. What a woman, and what a story!
Thank you Liz. I read recently that joy comes as a result of thanksgiving. After my husband of 32 years’ death in September I’m working hard at being thankful so that somehow, in His miraculous way, He will turn my mourning into joy. I’m thankful for your encouraging words.
Wonderful thanks to OUR God for giving me the right surgeon at Houston Methodist Hospital to fix me so I can have many years ahead of me to serve OUR Lord!!!
Liz, I await eager for your posts to my email address, for I know I will be filled with God Love after reading it.God has put so much back into my life after having sayed in my youth from following his word very closely. Now that I am back, spiritually, I just smile all the time, so much so, that people have commented to me about it, I reply: that it is God’s Love shining out through little ol me, as a blesing g to make you smile also.
I’m so thankful for my daughter Rachel who is pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl, due in June. She’s had several miscarriages and a stillborn, so we are so thankful for these precious ones.
I thank for Lord each day just for another day to try and do it right. I ask him to watch over my children and husband. I am so grateful for the love, support, and kindness that my heavenly Father shows me each day. I certainly don’t deserve it.
Thanks LIz
So very Thankful that my sister received news that a job she interviewed for is hiring her. She has struggled long and hard and never wavered in her faith that the Lord would take care of she and her family.
I am thankful for God’s amazing grace and love He shows me every day.
How beautifully said! So many miracles every day. I have often prayed I don’t get too accustomed to receiving them and will always be in AWE of them and HIM Who stays in and around me every minute of every day.
I thank God for helping me through these days of mourning. My darling husband of almost 50 years (as of June 23rd) passed from earth to Heaven suddenly on February 25th at the young age of 71 1/2. I have grieved deeply and know that it is only the strength of God helping me get through each day. I am so grateful!
Since today is my birthday, I’m very thankful for another year. I’m also thankful that His mercies are new every morning. As I begin a new year of life, I am just thankful.
Today I am thankful for the birth of my grandson! He was born on April 22, and I was blessed to be in the delivery room and witness the miracle of birth!
Everyday I am thankful for the chance to begin again!
I am thankful for the wonderful life God has blessed me with. So thankful that my father is alive and doing well. In February my father had a major stroke. It was a very stressful time for me. Today i give thanks and praise to My God for allowing my father to still be here. Thank you God for the many blessings.
I am thankful & praising God for safely weathering the rain & strong winds from the storm last night. The tornado by passed loved ones & we didn’t sustain any damage to our camper home. God is good ALL the time!!
Today and everyday I am thankful that Jesus is right here with me and goes before me in any situation. I am currently recovering from surgery for ovarian cancer and will have more chemo treatments to come. I am so glad he is with me every step of the way everyday !
What I witnessed was truly God’s miracle. Visiting Malawi, Africa, last year I was able to take part in the miracle of a remote village of about 600 people get fresh water for the first time in their lives through a well installed by Marion Medical Mission – an amazing organization! Water is life! It’s sad we cannot all share access to it equally. The women of the village then took us to the hole that they had been drawing their water from along with the animals who drank from it, rainwater that fell into it and fertilizer runoff that streamed into it. These types of miracles are helping hundreds of people on a daily basis. When you get to visit a village with a well and see lots of babies and young children who are not dying of cholera anymore you know you are witnessing God’s miracles!
There are so many things to be thankful for even when you hold sorrow in your heart. When that happens, you can truly see the blessings for what they are more clearly – at least for me. I am thankful that when I concentrate on the attributes and character of God many of my concerns become their right proportions in comparison. I am grateful for family and friends. Each day is a gift and I try to live each day to its fullest in Him.
This is truly beautiful! Thank you for sharing! I have been holding on to sorrow in my heart. Some days are better than others. Today was one of those days where I am not feeling great. Your post is a great reminder to notice the blessings that surround me and to be ever so grateful for the family and friends that support and encourage me.
I’m thankful for you, Liz, and all our spiritual leaders who turn our thoughts back to Jesus as we stray through the day. Brothers and sisters in Christ are so important to nudge us back into a state of thankfulness and awe!
I’m so thankful for the gift of salvation and the fact that it is simple enough for a little child. Monday night I answered a call on my phone and heard a very excited little girl’s voice saying, “I’m saved!!!” My 6-year-old granddaughter had just asked Jesus into her heart! This Nana has had a heart full of thanks ever since that call!
Lord I am so thankful for your perseverance, never giving up on me. Thank you
Cecilia
I am thankful for 47 years of marriage to my godly, loving, awesome husband Harry. I am thankful for 4 grown children, 4 beautiful grandchildren, for our health, and for this beautiful creation He has given us to enjoy.
I am thankful that He woke me up this morning and gave me breath. I had to have a tooth surgery extracted today, and I am thankful for an oral surgeon who was gentle, kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable about how to do it.
So many things to be thankful for but today I’m thankful the tornado tripped up the little college town they live in left my children I damaged.
What am I thankful for?
How can I begin to answer this question? There are soooooo many things to be thankful for each and every day! Things like waking up healthy, able to see, hear, walk, and talk. Thankful for the life that God has blessed me with. Thankful for my salvation. I am definitely thankful for my family and good health! I am thankful for God’s marvellous creation. I go outside every morning and love seeing everything blooming and hearing and seeing the birds! Even they make a joyful noise to the Lord!
I am very thankful for my family! The Lord has really blessed me! I am thankful for my salvation and all of God’s promises!
I am thankful for God’s amazing grace and love He shows me every day.
My granddaughter had a serious accident last Saturday and I am thankful that a hand surgeon was available to do the surgery. I am thankful to the team of doctors and nurses that gave her wonderful care so that she was able to come home.
I am so thankful to my family and friends who prayed for her recovery….and will continue for this will be a long process.
God’s blessings will be on her…..her name is Grace!
In building relationships built on trust, I am learning that saying “thank you” is a foundational step as well as telling the person why I am thankful for that person. Sometimes a quick “thanks” is not understood in the manner I meant it to be, so by adding the why I am thankful, others better understand my intentions.
So, I am thankful for Liz and her love for nature and her perspectives on God. God creates such great beauty for us in nature and Liz has a way of connecting the creator with the creation. God Bless you today Liz!
Today I give all my thanks to our Heavenly Father!
Without his love and mercies I would be a broken woman. I thank him everyday for giving me another chance at life. You see 23 years ago I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of ovarian cancer. I went through months of chemotherapy not knowing if I was going to see another tomorrow. So yes, everyday I wake I thank God for my two eyes to see the beauty of the morning, two legs to walk outside and tend to my farm animals and my two arms to lift my praises up to him!
God is good!!!
I’m thankful for the love of Jesus & for having the opportunity of sharing that love with the inmates(residents) at Kentucky State Reformatory next weekend(Fri, Sat, Sun). We are all sinners in need of a Savior who is Jesus & to let them know that God will forgive them if that confess their sins. To see just one come to know Christ is a blessing. I’m so thankful that God is using me in this way to let others know about His love.
I am very thankful for God’s blessings on my life every day! I am thankful for the life that he has given me and my salvation!
I am thankful that God spared us from more harm that could have been done in a pit-bull attack we were in Saturday night. Fortunately, it looks like our dog will live and my children and I came away with just some scrapes and bruises. So thankful to God everyday since that it was not worse than it was.
I am giving thanks for God’s providing good test results for our daughter, asking for direction for answers to continuing symptoms and acknowledging that God is a present help in time of trouble! Thanks, Liz for sharing your heart and God’s help !
I’m thankful for all the times I’ve experienced GOD’s forgiveness for all the times I’ve failed HIM , for HIS unfailing love ,HE knows me so well and loves me anyway !!!
I am thankful that God loves me so much to sacrifice His son for me to live eternally with Him. Also am thankful for my two strong, beautiful grown-up kids who make me so very proud of them.
I am most thankful to God for – I once was lost and now I’m found. He allows me to call Him Abba Father. He has lifted me out of the mire of my life and set my feet on solid ground – the Rock of Jesus Christ. He has filled my heart with Himself, His love, His mercy and grace and uses it to love others. What a glorious God He is! I am awed by His love and forever grateful for the life He has given me – life forever with Him.
I am thankful for EVERYTHING that God has blessed me with. God has been so good to me.
Thankful for a reunion with my birthson. I received my first letter from him the Friday after Mother’s Day 3 years ago. My first visit from he and his wife came in July of 2017.
Thankful that God answered my prayers over the years for him and his parents in so many ways. This fall I will travel to Phoenix to meet his parents and be able to thank them in person for being the answers to my prayers for my son.
Laughing Hearts Farm, what a wonderful name! It describes you, Liz, so perfectly! After God called my 26 year old son, Tyler, to join His Heavenly Army, I couldn’t smile, I wouldn’t allow myself to laugh much. I was overwhelmed with sadness for so long. Then I was introduced to you at a ladies Bible study at a local church. Loved by God! My life story was a bit like yours before I met Jesus. He used your beautiful face to help my heart to scab over a bit. Since then I’m smiling more and laughing again while waiting for God’s call for me! Love and prayers for you sweet lady!
I am thankful for my dear grandson. Our daughter was only 25 weeks pregnant. John weighed 1 lb 14 oz when he was born. He was in University of Kentucky hospital for 82 days and came home with heart monitor and oxygen for three months. I could write a whole story about his birth but the faith of my daughter and son in law is to be admired. Their first words were, “He is going to be ok!” Many prayers were lifted up and many trials were met but God was there in the midst. I am thankful to say that John turned 17 on May 2 and and he has no disabilities. Thank you God! Would like to share the whole story with you sometime.
So much to be Thankful for, including your wonderful sharing that reminds us of our Blessings and reasons for Attitude of Gratitude every day!
Ran into a friend had not seen in a while at Walgreens Friday, and admired her nail cross necklace. She took it off and put it on me, telling me a man at her church makes them. When she told me name, I remembered seeing a feature in the paper on this . He’s the husband of a long-time friend that I don’t see very often. Ron has macular degeneration, and decided his mission was to make ad many of these to give away ad possible while still has eyesight. He’s made over 6000 to date. His wife made a special trip (to where I was playing canasta) to bring me a dozen to share with my Eve’s Circle group [we just completed “Really Bad Girls”, after “Bad Girls”]. Just a few of the MANY wonderful people am BLESSED to have in my life.
Of course I’m also Thankful for and amazed by this beautiful world we’ve been given, and sooooo much more. People who do so much for others, in so many ways, give me joy and hope over all the negative things you hear.
Thank YOU Dear Liz😊💕
Thanks so much for the reminder of giving thanks! My husband and I have been felt God’s nudge of ‘being’ thankful. We host a small group and Bruce challenged us to look at giving thanks. I’ve been meeting with a small group of widows (was widowed for 5 years and felt God’s leading in ‘comforting those in the way I was comforted’) and for a couple months, we’ve been looking at gratitude. It’s such a gift when we choose to give thanks – in the midst of the mess or the miraculous! Praying for your transition as you move…
Thank you, Liz, for your always uplifting, inspiring words. I love that your homeplace is called “Laughing Heart.” So fitting for you.
Thanks doesn’t begin to cover all this momma’s heart feels toward my Savior. His answers to prayers I’ve prayed over the years for my two children, now 27 and 20, respectively, are far more than I could think or ask. Each day as I open my bible, I see passages with their names and dates beside them and thank my sweet Shepherd for his divine intervention into our daily lives. Thanks be to God!
We’re Alive!
I am so thankful and blessed in my children. All grown now with only the youngest still at home. I am so proud of them and the adults they have become.
For our granddaughter. She was is a auto accident last January 8th. But after 11 months in the hospital. TThough is she back in and still struggling, still healing. She knows who holds her hand and is praising His name.
I am thankful that our daughters, who previously didn’t attend church, have started coming and bringing the kids too. And our oldest came without the kids when they were at their dad’s (she originally used the kids wanting to come as her excuse for being at church). Praise the Lord! Now hopefully our son and his girlfriend will change their minds and choose church and following Jesus.
I am a thankful mawmaw! I am raising my two grandchildren and am healthy enough to do that. I am thankful for each day the good Lord gives me and my family. Praise be to God!
I am thankful that God is faithful even when I’m not.
I didn’t know you were selling Laughing Heart Farms. I’m happy you had 26 years at the farm. I’m sure you’ll have a lifetime of memories to take with you.
Many blessings for your new home.
I am thankful that my daughter is home visiting from Honduras where she is a missionary. We get to have her home until the last day of May.
I’m thankful today because I have a friend in Jesus. He loves me more than anyone else. I trust His ways and His promises. I trust his plan for my life and my future. We are attempting to sell our B&B Inn and I’m trusting Him for the Innkeepers that will take over for us. He knows my heart to serve Him more. Have a beautiful day!
Your posts always make my smile Liz, and the love and joy of the Lord most certainly shines through you , ALWAYS.
I’m thankful for the Lord waking me today and every day, even though, some days I’d rather not face the day. I try to give thanks in all things regardless of what my doubts and fears may be, because that’s what the Lord asks of me. Giving thanks and praise brings me into the sense of “worry less, pray more”. Wow, I needed to read this over again. God Bless you Liz always, and just a bit more for a wonderful Mothers Day. Your sis in Christ. Sharon
Wow, Sister Liz, do we have a major commonality today as we are in the throes of a move as well. After living our entire lives in the same city, 46 of those years marred to my high school sweetheart, we are moving from our home today and have purchased a home in another city to be near three of our young grandchildren. As we have prepared to move I, also, have been praising and thanking God for a most beautiful spring and that I have been able to see my flowering trees and plants bloom one more time. God is so good. I am confident He has sent just the right family to live un our home. I pray they will love it and invite Him to live here with them just as we have. May God bless you richly as you settle in your new home.
Thankful for the ability to encourage people who are looking to themselves and not to God for their strength.
So very grateful for time spent with my sister. We are separated by 1500 miles but together for 2 weeks on vacation to Italy/ Greece.
Giving thanks today for my dear friend, Phyllis. Older and wiser than me, she continues to care about my insignificant complaints and encourages me on. She prays for me– All this while she spends 12 weeks in a nursing home, receiving daily intense therapy for a broken femur. She smiles, she laughs, she gives glory to God. ❤⚘🙏
Your posted always make me smile and lift me up when I need the encouragement! Today I’m thankful for God waking me up and allowed me another day on this great earth. I’m thankful for my family and my church family!
I am so thankful for my future son-in-law! My daughter will be getting married in our backyard this June. So excited and thankful for all our wonderful blessings!
This came across my computer at just the right time. One of our grandsons is having a tough time deciding what to do with his life,P
Parents won’t him to graduate collage. He came over late last night, after his grandfather had gone to bed. We talked and he said he wonted to please everyone, I told him all I wonted was for him to be happy. The pictures of all the flowers made me think of how much GOD wonts us to be happy. Thank you so much for all your writings.
I am most thankful for my husband being cancer free! Talk about a miracle! Praise God!
I have so much to be thankful for but today I want to share that I am so thankful for the Lord keeping me strong and healthy so that I may continue to take care of my 87 year old mother and special needs sister.
Today has been “one of those days” that we all have as a mom. Dragged all three boys to the doctor to get the baby’s ear checked (raging ear infection); drove to pick up his prescription (“come back in ten minutes”); circled for ten minutes (“come back in ten more minutes”); went to pick up my Walmart grocery order (thankful for that service! Can I get an “amen”?!). Got home and unloaded and finally go to put the sick baby down for a much-needed nap and the smoke alarm in his room goes off three separate times each time I get him settled down. I’m sitting here with my heart pounding just waiting for it to go off again and my ears are still ringing (which makes me feel bad for the poor little guy with his sore ear to begin with!). I just read this reflection and it made me remember just how blessed I am to be able to be the mom to these three little boys! Even on days like this…it’s the best job in the world!
I am so thankful for a doctor that “listens”. During my last annual exam, my doctor told me I needed a chest X-ray…because it had been awhile. Two xrays, a CT scan and PET scan later…I have Metatastic Endometrial cancer. On a follow-up visit to the same doctor I asked him why he had asked for that X-ray. He said, “You know, sometimes you just get a feeling about things.”…
Today I’m thankful for another Mothers Day I’ll be spending with my mom. She’s such a strong person and I’m thankful for her strength and faith.
I love this time of year as God recreates the world in flowers, trees, birds and our moods! As unrest increases in our modern world, and we are bombarded with the negative, I make a point to express gratitude daily- to my family, my pets, my friends and colleagues. Everyone needs to hear it, and so does our God!
Thankfulness always comes from the heart as our Lord
teaches us in His Word to be thankful at all times.
As such, I am thankful for being alive, for knowing the Lord as my Savior and for going three days without a debilitating migraine headache.
I am thankful for a child God sent and the wonderful person she has become. I’m thankful for the beauty that is growing around at this time of year, reminding me there is a season for everything. The sun is shining brightly and there is a cool breeze blowing , feeling almost like God’s hands around me. And I’m thankful for the people like you, Liz, that God has sent my way, to help me grow and learn more about Him.
Thank you God for all of this and more.
Hi Liz , I truly believe thanksgiving should permeate all aspects of our life and be a lifestyle that helps to lift others and ourselves up. I am presently thankful for a job for daughter’s fiancee and protection from a recent accident; upcoming college graduation & wedding for one daughter; upcoming high school graduation for another; and a wonderful time away my husband and I were able to take.
Psalm 37:23-24 “The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand.” I am thankful that, even though I have stumbled a bit lately, He has not let me fall (or fall through the cracks!) He woos and pursues me and I am in awe at the depths of His love.
I am thankful I will be spending Mother’s Day with my Mom, who is 90 yr. old and recently moved to my area.

I am thankful that God was in control.
…when I was recovering from pelvic prolapse surgery (4/15).
…when my Mother died (4/22).
…when we buried my Mother in Alabama (4/27).
I am so thankful to have my mother with me this Mother’s Day. Last year, April 5th, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer. This year she is living with me and still going strong.
Hi Liz, I am giving Thanks to God for my Christian girlfriends! God has blessed me abundantly with many!
I am thankful for these emails!
I am also thankful for the coming together of His people to pray! We have been seeing people of all denominations throughout our area come together to worship and praise Him! God is alive and at work!
I’m thankful for my husband. He’s (usually) patient with me for having to wait for me to be ready to head out the door to go to work every day. I appreciate that. I’m thankful for you, Liz. That you’re feeling better and recovering with treatment from cancer. and that you and Bill have a home buyer you are happy with.
God bless you.
I read this in Charleston. This is my first visit to South Carolina and I’m thankful for the opportunity to see this beautiful state, to enjoy its friendly people, delicious food, and learn some of its history and culture. Thank you Liz. Your pictures are gorgeous and your words so full of wisdom.
Greetings Liz! Gratitude is so important! How can we fully enjoy Him and enjoy our relationship with him through any other attitude! I’m blessed to have loving family members and friends. I’m overjoyed to attend the Mackinac Island WinSome Women conference! Oh to see the beauty all around is splendid! Praising Him each and every day! 🙂
Today, I am giving thanks for my family, my friends, and for being part of a wonderful church community of Believers who encourage me and my family in our faith.
I am thankful today even though my music teaching position is being dissolved at the end of the school year. I am thankful that He holds my husband and my kids in the palm of His hand and he won’t fail us. I am thankful for His constant working in our lives even though my husband is looking at a potential job change that would move us out of our space. He knows whats going to go down! He knows where we are safe! I know God is in control because He has proven Himself faithful so many times. Over. and over. and over. AMEN
I am so grateful that I have a sweet, beautiful, healthy granddaughter who is celebrating her birthday today🌷
I am giving thanks that we have a risen Savior as proof there is life after death. My husband and I served as a team in the Pastorate until death claimed his body so he is already praising God but I know that one day, I will join him along with others as we lift our voices to the one true God.
I am thankful for my son and his new bride as they exchange their bows on May 10.
I am thankful for a God who walks with us through every blessing and every heartache. After losing my husband this past Thanksgiving, I was challenged to see God through my grief. He proved Himself patient, loving , caring, and kind. Isaiah 55 says He is my husband. I am so thankful for His faithfulness in so many ways.
Thankful for God’s promises that are as fresh and new today as they were thousands of years ago. I claim them daily and He has never failed me.
I’m thankful for grace each day new mercies. Oh what a Savior!!!!!
I am thankful that God does not leave us where we are in our faith journey. He is always encouraging us to be more like HIM.
restoration and reconciliation happening within my marriage! Thank you God for this miracle
Such lovely pictures. I do love spring with the greening and flowering of the earth! God is gracious to give us such beauty to enjoy. Thanking Him for health and family. Looking forward to seeing you next week in Mackinac!
I am giving thanks for friends who stick by during hard times.
I am thankful for a 15 month planned move from Atlanta to Jacksonville. A smooth transition for my husband’s job/sales territory, being closer to some family, that our house sold fast to a wonderful couple, and that I am finally in my happy place – the beach after all these years. God told me he was taking me to the beach and here we are on the other side still trusting for unknown things, but thoroughly enjoying the beach with each other. It is good!
I’m thankful for helping hands from a caregiver and the opportunity to travel with my husband!
I am giving thanks today for our wonderful Pastor, Mike Smith and his wife, Linda who have served our church family for 11 years. They are being moved to a different church where God needs them to be. We will miss their love and compassion for all people and their wonderful smiles and encouragement.
I am giving thanks that EVERY. SINGLE.DAY. He shows me new strength to press in to Him as I earn to love Him with my WHOLE heart! Giving up more of myself each time. Receiving more of Him.💜
I am most thankful for today is forgiveness. My husband and I have been married for almost 40 years. This could not have happened without forgiveness. Of course we learn this concept from our Savior giving himself for our forgiveness. How else could you live life in this sin sick world? Praise Him!
I’m thankful that everyday is a new day. That God is my rock immovable, unchanging the great I AM(not I was or I will be). That He is faithful. The truth and the light.
Thankful to be able to learn more of His words each and every day so that He will be more completely revealed to me. Thank you for this give away Liz!
I’ve been struggling a lot recently. I decided before work I was going to take a brief walk on the beach. As I followed the wooden path the vegetation on both sides grew dense and I was surrounded by the smells and Sites of so many wildflowers that I stopped and close my eyes breezed in the wonderful smell and thank God for it! As the beach came into sight I could feel my heart get lighter. It was a kiss from God that is helping me get through knowing he is there with me every step
Liz,
On this Mother’s Day weekend, I am truly thankful for my wonderful children. As a teenager, I decided that I did not have the capacity and
talent to raise children; so I told my future husband that I did not want a family. I chose a teaching career instead. Well…God had different ideas about my life’s path, and He blessed us with a daughter and a son. Amazingly, He also gave me what I needed to cope and raise them to
become beautiful Christian adults! In turn, they are blessing others around them. They are the light of my life, and I thank God each day for not allowing me to pursue my self-centered ways. He has brought so much love into my life through my family.
So blessed and thankful for a family situation that is starting to fizzle out with love and understanding! Great and wonderful day!!
I am so thankful for this beautiful creation that I get to see everyday The hollyhocks are blooming and so pretty and smell so good. I think of the scriptures how our prayers are a sweet incense to God and I imagine how all these good smells are to the Holy Spirit. Thankful everyday!
So thankful to the Lord for a beautiful, sunny & breezy day at the beach with the whole family!
I am Thankful for your words of encouragement and the lovely spring photographs. Where I live in Canada, things are just beginning to green up. Flowers are still in the thought process.
Oh Liz, bless you as you sell your farm. When you’ve lived somewhere that long, it’s hard to let it go. But I’m sure the Lord has new and wonderful (an excellent word, by the way!) things for you ahead, along with your family. I am so thankful for the season of life that I am in, my nest is becoming emptier. I’m trying to fill it up with him, and make him the center of my life, now that all the fledglings have left.
May God bless you!
I am very thankful for one more year of life and because my Granddaughter was born and us a very beautiful and healthy baby.
Today I am thankful that I took the time to stop and read this wonderful reminder, that even in the midst of the chaos of my life right now, when things seem out of control, to go back to the basics, and give thanks.
I am thankful and praising God for my mom’s 92nd birthday today! We are celebrating together and it is an awesome day of memories! She is amazing!
I am thankful for family and friends who love God and love me! God is so good and He proves himself to me everyday!
I am thankful for my salvation and Gods faithfulness!
Today I am especially thankful for a safe trip. I drove from VA to WV to pick up my cousin and 2 old school friends for a remarkable trip to Gettysburg, PA & then to Walnut Creek, Ohio, Amish country. I am nearly back home after two weeks & the Lord has truly blessed us on those maaannnyyy miles. He is so good to us all the time. He gave us a beautiful county with such colorful vegetation to enjoy. I am so grateful for the health of all four of us “well season birds” of 75 & 76. I love Him.
Starting a new Bible study to help keep me in the Word.
The other weekend I got to see .friends I had not seen for a long time. Very nice
I am thankful that God chose the perfect person to fill the vacant President’s position at the college where I am the Executive Assistant to the President. He is a Godly man with a great vision for our college.
Today, I honor my teachers who taught me to be enthusiastic about learning. I have learned things all my life and am so grateful for them.
They make a difference!
I am thankful for Salvation! And my 70th birthday one week from today! I can’t believe it! I’m not really that old. And hubby and I will celebrate 50 th Anniversary in June.
I am thankful that I get to read and review excellent Christian Fiction from some of my favorite authors!
Blessings to you and yours, Liz! Hope your move goes smoothly.
Christ has given us everything!
My family, and the beautiful weather we’re having here this week.
I’m thankful for another day. Thankful that I can live for Him because He died for me. My Heavenly Father gives me sight to see all the beauty that He creates and His Word to Live by. I am thankful for life.
So very thankful for a ‘no cancer’ report after my husband’s recent surgery….and for his faithfulness to me, His child, even when I am faithless….He always brings me back to Himself…..so very, very thankful.
So thankful my grandson River born August 2nd prematurely weighing 2 lbs 12 oz is now strong and healthy at 15 lbs! Praise God!
So thankful for my salvation, good health and taking care of our grands for a while so their parents could get away. Busy with a teen and preteen keeps us hopping! The wonderful memories are priceless! Thankful for “Jesus Joy” everyday no matter the journey or season!
I am thankful: that God is so patient with me; for my wonderful family & friends & the BEST church in the U S; and for wonderful Bible teachers & sincere God-loving messages from people like you, Liz Curtis Higgs.
Thanks for family, friends, and faith….. much spoken, but forever true. My cousin gifted me with a set of three LED candles (on a timer) that have these words on them. So a reminder of the comfort that comes from their light within.
I give thanks to God continually. He has preformed the many miracles. I have a full time job, my husband’s social security has started. We have a loving son and a wonderful daughter in-law who is becoming open to God’s love. We have two beautiful full of life grandchildren and one on the way. God has provided a way for us to remodel our home instead of having to move. Seriously Joyfully Liz it doesn’t get any better than this
Today i am giving thanks for the 11 years of joys and laughs God gave me in the gift of my wonderful dog that passed away yesterday. Though i am brokenhearted I’m thankful.
There are SO many things to give God thanks for…today I give thanks for the beautiful Spring day, with a blue sky and the flowers bursting open on so many of our trees! Many of your beautiful photos remind me of some of my trees and bushes here in Oregon.
I love the way you expound the Scriptures and bless us with your beautiful photos of nature! I’m praying your next home will also have an abundance of flowers and trees for you to photograph!
Thanks for this today Liz!
I am giving thanks for the reminder when “we lose our way he leads us home”. I’ve lost my way bit lately and seems satan has me focused on my efforts to turn around instead of God’s Hesed.
Loved your lesson on Phoebe Never heard of her before Looking forward to visiting with you tomorrow in Canton Ohio
I’m thankful to God for provision and spring flowers.
I am so thankful today that my sweet husband, although he has stage 4 lung cancer, he does not suffer any pain. It is hard watching him slip away from m, but I am blessed not to see him suffer. He is under Hospice care and staying in good spirits until he is in the arms of our Lord.
I am thankful for the many, many things! But today I want to share my thankfulness for all of the wonderful Christian Ladies that inspire me each and every day. I have a mother and father that raised me to love the Lord. I church is filled with ladies of all ages that teach me and allow me to share with them. This past weekend, I was able to go with a group of ladies to Women of Joy in Myrtle Beach, SC and it was one of the best I have been able to attend. I learn so much and I am inspired by the speakers and song leaders. God has blessed so many with gifts to share and encourage. Thank you Lord for all of the blessings!
Thankful for His unfailing, gracious, faithful and steadfast
love that never fades, never falters, and never fails! Thank Liz for always showing us a deeper understanding of God’s Word.
I’m thankful for many things, salvation, my husband, my bonus mom (a dear friend who I love dearly and is a extra mom of my heart), a job, my church family and so many more. But besides my salvation, I’m most thankful for my stepson, James. James will be 13 in August (a teenager- pray for me!! ), he’s already surpassed me in height, even when he’s not wearing his ever present baseball cap. At almost 13, he’s strong, loves to laugh, go to church, play Angry Birds, take baths and do anything that involves going somewhere. At 13, he’s in middle school learning to write his name, name his colors, shapes and types of money, plus more. He’s learning to communicate with others effectively and that waiting in line is a must in life. He’s learning that his sweet missing front tooth smile (he broke one off and it had to be removed) will get him various things, including gummies from Grandma. Hes learning to test the patience of the most patient people, but shows them daily he loves them without using words. You see, James has autism, hearing loss, and he’s nonverbal. He’ll never do so many things each of us take for granted each and everyday, or that we get to see our kids do. But nonetheless, he’s my hero and I’m thankful for him. Without knowing it, he broke down barriers of people, got into their hearts and minds. He has more people that know him at church and school than both his father and I know combined. He always wears a smile, and he always is good for a hug, even though you may have to ask for it. 🙂 At church he gives everyone high five before going to his Sunday school class, then back out to preaching service for an opening before heading back to Childrens church. Everyone he meets gets a smile and a “James slow down and watch out”from me trailing behind him. I most likely won’t ever have children, health issues most likely will prevent it, but for almost 11 years now, I’ve got to watch this precious gift from God grow, mature, age and become the child of my heart. And I’m thankful for him, more than I realize sometimes. Being a stepmom is not easy, especially when the child is special needs. However, I’m thankful for the child God gave me to help raise, nurture and love for the rest of his life.
I am thankful for my small sweet island home. The most generous community ever and I am so grateful to be a part of it and raise my family here. I am thankful that my kids attend a Christian School:-)
The marvelous miracles we so often miss! I’m seeing so much Thru a cancer surgery & now about to start chemo, just so many. Miracles God continues to perform for me, I’m humbly grateful!
I am so very thankful for my eyesight! I lost my left eye in 1991 and had many surgeries on both eyes to try to save my sight. I was legally blind twice and completely blind for two days. It is very frightening to lose your sight. Then my right eye (only one I have) developed glaucoma. I thought I would fall apart, but the Lord gave me a peace and I knew I could trust Him. He gave me a great doctor who is striving religiously to keep my eye pressure down and keep the glaucoma from spreading. I know if it is not contained I will go blind. The doctor recently did laser surgery to help the pressure subside and I had so many people praying for me. Amazing thing…I was not worries or anxious. I left it to the Lord and all went well. And my eye pressure has gone down. There are not enough words to thank Him for my sight, which is precious to me. I know He cares about my sight.
Hi Liz!
Spring here is Oregon is so gorgeous with peonies, dogwoods, rhododendrons, lilacs, and every blooming thing that benefits from our rainy winters!
I’m forever thankful that the Lord saw fit to give me healing from breast cancer 9 yrs. ago! I pray you continue to grow in His peace and health in your cancer journey. God is so good!
Today, I’m thankful and praise God for my Husband! He’s has been the perfect one for me all of our 38 yrs. together!
Thankful God saw beyond my faults and loves me unconditionally. I am so blessed. He has given me godly children and two of my grandchildren are believers. Believing He will reach the rest of my family do not know Him. And He lets me serve women and other ways in my walk
I’m thankful today for God’s unfailing love for me! Everyday I fail Him, but my Lord’s mercy is new every morning!🙌
As I look at God’s beautiful creation, at this spring time of the year, I’m so thankful. The glorious colors of the green trees, the vibrant colors of the blooming flowers. The clear blue sky with the shining sun, making all things new! Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is anew creation. The old has passed away, behold, the new has come (2Cor5:17)
I am thankful for God’s beauty all around me. In the earth and in the people. I took my Mom to see her best friend of decades the other day. Her friend is dying. I could see God’s grace, love and mercy in this beautiful lady. I was thankful for this special relationship as I sat watching them hold hands and talk. God has always been an important part of their relationship and for that I am so thankful.
I’m so thankful for my wonderful teenage granddaughter who made me the best, most thoughtful mother’s day card ❤️
I am Thankful to have had a special mother. She passed away Jan 1,2019. It was sudden. She died on her sidewalk while coming out to put up Christmas decorations. She always said “God Is In Control”. She died where she had a camera on her sidewalk and carport area. Otherwise we would not have known. She was 91 . Still driving her car, mowing her lawn & mentoring a child at a local elementary school. Living her life the way she wanted. She was a woman of great faith and strong personality. We miss her but know that she was never in the hospital, never sick and went quickly . So God was in control. We sobbed and sobbed the day we found her. But know she is now in the presence of the Lord. Face to face. I and my 3 sisters are so thankful to have had the mother we had.
I am thankful for growth in my journey with Jesus. For reminders every day of His love for me through nature, people I meet, my family, God’s Word and supernatural encounters.
As we get closer to Mother’ Day, I am reminded of the wonderful lessons of love and mutual respect my patents modeled for me and my 4 siblings. They were married for 63 years and a few days when Mother gained her angel wings. Mother was a beautiful role model as a Christian wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor & friend. I’m thankful for every minute of the 51 years I had to watch love so vividly expressed.
Liz, I am VERY thankful that in 1952 a lady walked across the street to her neighbor’s yard and invited her to a fish fry at church.
That neighbor was my mother, and that walk across the street began a legacy of faith that has literally given birth to 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
With four pastors, three church staff members, one missionary and every single member a follower of Jesus, I’m grateful to say: one person’s “walk” makes a difference for eternity.
I am thankful for how my adult children are growing and maturing, and how our relationship is improving as they get past the teenage years. I am thankful for the opportunity to go to my daughter’s house after not being invited for almost a year and a half.
I am thankful for our new grandson, Jaxxton! He is such a sweetie and a blessing.
I’m thankful that God has sustained me through this semester of school and that in 5 short days I’ll be through until August!! I’m so ready to focus on my home and my children for a while.
I am thankful for finding your blog and posts Liz. Your enthusiasm for sharing God’s love always brings encouragement and joy when I listen to your or read your posts. Thank you for sharing with us.
I give thanks today for the opportunity of attending a memorial service for a much loved member of my church family. AND being able to celebrate my mother’s 96th birthday. I also give thanks for my brother who called cross country to wish Mom happy birthday, and to one of her neighbors who stopped by with a card, and to her church deacon who stopped by with cookies and coffee. The day was made special for Mom.
I am thankful for all of God’s creation, especially in the spring with beautiful blooming trees and flowers, even as friends are confronting the flooding along the Mississippi and Illinois rivers. He is in control and we trust in Him!
I am thankful for new beginnings… Even when I’m not sure where they will lead, I trust the One who is leading.
Giving thanks for 52 wonderful years of marriage May 13. A beautiful season to celebrate.
Giving thanks that God has not given up on my family or myself. I am 80 years and “survived,” being a career woman, wife, mother, and grandmother. God has stayed with me through being a care giver, through sickness, death in my family (even the devastating loss by suicide). Imprisonment of my son. So many years I coasted taking God for granted. Even before I started seeking Him He sought me. What a mind blower that was. AND most of all He has not given up on me.
Thankful, so thankful for so many things–the ability to see your beautiful spring pictures, to be able to read your words and especially The Word, my husband who gave us a scare this year with a melanoma (clear margins and negative lymph nodes), my wonderful children and their families, I could go on and on!
Where are you moving to, Liz? Your farm is beautiful!

This Mother’s Day, I am thankful for a Mother (and Father) who was such a great example of Christian love. I’m thankful for a God who loves us as we are, but also loves us enough not to let us stay there. I’m thankful for a son and daughter-in-law who are raising three beautiful children who love Jesus. I’m thankful for supportive, loving friends.
I give thanks for another day. For God’s love, forgiveness, and
Grace. I am thankful for family.
I am thankful for God’s word.
Always giving thanks to God for never giving up on me.
Every day I am a little more thankful than the last. I spent most of my life with epilepsy, but following brain surgery in 2005, have been well ever since. Having an illness most of my life has given me a different perspective including an attitude of gratitude like no other. I’m thankful for every day I get since there was a time when they thought I would not survive. Instead God has been with me every step of the way. I’m passionate about prayer and helping others come into His presence. I even celebrate Mother’s Day with a different perspective. The real reason I ever had the surgery was so I would get to be a mother to my kids. This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it because He is the great I Am.
My Faith grows daily and I’m so very grateful knowing God supports me with his Love and Compassion. I had some devastating news that just about broke my heart in two, and the first thing I did was to pray to Father . Who is lifting the burden from me by taking it on himself. I Love you Father xxx
I am thankful for LIFE. I am a two year breast cancer survivor.
I am thankful that my husband and I are buying a home of our own next week that we plan to live out our remaining years in.
I’m thankful that you, too, are a survivor.
I am thankful….thankful and in awe that He chose me. His unfailing love and grace over me. With all my stumbling, He vontinued to picks me up, sustains me.
You are quite a “wonderful” God.
Thank you Liz for the blog and the give-a-way.
The last few months have been difficult and my focus has shifted to those difficulties. I am so thankful that the Holy Spirit nudged me to realize I was not counting my many blessings that happen every single day. So now I am looking for the blessings. All the little things that I take for granted. Thank you Lord!
Today I am thankful that 36 years ago I became a Mom for the first time! What a joy and pleasure that has been! Thankful for 3 wonderful adult children!! ❤️
I am so blessed and thankful. It being Mother’s day weekend, for my mother. She has that sacrificial giving spirit that blessed me. Time with a special friend this weekend in a new place to explore. My kids and grands that give me joy. My Savior that is ever faithful.
Giving thanks today for the man I married 37 years ago as we celebrate our anniversary. What an incredible gift from a God!
Oh so many things to be thankful for. Many are God’s light in the middle of trials. So I don’t write a tome, I’ll go quick and easy… my college daughter, many states away is coming home soon for TWO WHOLE weeks!!!!
I have so many things to be thankful for!!! On July 11th, 2017 my husband was getting up to go to work and he couldn’t walk. He was admitted to the hospital and was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis. Not much improvement but we are still trusting God in this situation. We are so thankful for family, church family and friends during this time that has helped us through this difficult time. I am so thankful to still have him with me!!! I thank God for his many Blessings in our lives.
I am so grateful and thankful that God is with me everyday to carry me through and remind me that I’m not alone!
This morning I want to give thanks to my dear Father for his unfailing love and kindness to me. Even tho I was awake so long last night in pain. I know without a doubt that he knows and cares about me and that he is molding me into the woman he wants me to be. Thank you Jesus!
I am very thankful today for almost 50 years of marriage (June 8th) . Neither of us knew Jesus in a personal way at that time. But there came a time when we both gave our lives to the LORD and were saved. Now our children and grandchildren are saved too—-nothing in this world is more important to me than knowing that!!!
Today I’m thankful I’m recovering from my surgery. There were complications and things could have gone bread, but my loving Father had a different plan. I’m thankful I’m still here and able to be with my family and continue my ministry as a Hospice nurse.
This may sound trite but right at this moment I am thankful for your gentle reminder to be thankful! I spent yesterday complaining to the Lord and feeling downcast, but after reading this I am shifting my focus and today I will thank Him all day for the many blessings in my life!!
I am praising God for His loving kindness and sovereignty! Today I will “give thanks in all circumstances.”
What a Blessing to focus on His GOODNESS. Yes, it takes a little effort at times….negativity seems to come flying at ya, all on its own,….but actively looking for all the things to be thankful for is the best medicine for the soul.
I am so thankful, for the God who sees, never does He overlook a single one! And He not only sees He acts on our behalf, providing wells of living water in the desert places. How I praise Him for being ever present, ever with me, and you!
Hi Liz, I enjoy your beautiful words!
I am thankful that God has given my husband and me a 2nd chance. We went through many hard years. We lost everything and separated. I was devastated and never expected to see him again. But praise God He worked out all things for good and we have started over together! I am so very thankful for this new life together…better than ever!
I am giving thanks for the sunshine and 45 degrees! Instead of the SNOW that we had yesterday!
Such gift with sharing Christ. I’m thankful spring. I love watching everything come to life and the tree buds unfolding into glorious greens.
Hi Liz, I am so thankful for Lord Himself and the assurance that He is in control. I am thankful for His wisdom, direction and guidance that He gives me every day in all the decisions (and they are many)that I have to make for that day.
I am thankful for His love and kindness to me every day and for His provisions to me and my husband. May He be honored and glorified every day of my life.
Oh, precious sister of my heart….we are on the same page, of the same month of May…a time to be grateful for the abundance of spring! I am reveling in it also…and giving thanks for His bounty, beauty and peace.
Also, that bones were not broken in my recent fall…He is my guide, my shepherd, and I fear ‘no evil’…amen
I am just thankful to be alive. To have another day with my family. Thankful that my husband loves me enough to change his work schedule around so that I am able to have time off to go to ladies group every week (he spends the day with our handicapped adult son and have their guy time).
Bless you Liz, your words are always encouraging..I am or have been blessed to have spent 52years with an amazing Christian man. Lost him 3 years ago but the blessing I have gotten and continue to receive are numerous. God has giving me a spirit of love and giving. What a blessing that is. I am truly Thankful for a God who watched over me daily.
In this season of transition for us, I am thankful for a new-to-us condo with a view of Lake Michigan, an opportunity to take a photography class for free, and new sisters in Christ at our new church!- Among many other things!
Liz, I recently lost my younger brother to cancer at the tender age of 54. I am truly thankful that for the last two years he was able to come home to live and reconnect with family. What a wonderful time we all had sharing good times and many laughs. Truly, God blessed us with more time with him than we thought we would have ! For this we will always be grateful.
Today I’m giving thanks for my family and my friends. I have a wonderful life, and I’m incredibly blessed. I’m also giving thanks for His love and grace. I don’t deserve it, but He is so gracious. He is always worthy of praise.
Each Mother’s Day, I am thankful for 2 women who took me under their wings and nurtured me as a young woman and also as a young believer. My own mother wasn’t very nurturing, but my best friend’s mother made sure I learned about things of life and things of the Lord. I became a Christian because of her. My mother-in-love was everything I hoped to be. She taught me how to be a wife and mother with her gentle teaching. She loved me when her son left me for someone else and prayed for me and my boys. Our names were on her prayer list in her Bible when she passed. I have always thanked G-d for these women who filled a role in my life that needed guidance. And I learned to thank G-d for that difficult time in my life because it taught me total dependence on Him when we lived 650 miles away from family and were new to a new city and state. G-d filled the void after my husband left and I thank Him so much for all He has done and continues to do in my life.
I am truly grateful for His love and mercy. I’m also grateful for new beginnings! He brought me through an abusive childhood and marriage and has given me a fresh start in life!! Praise Him for His goodness!!
I’m so thankful for spring! The trees coming back to life, the butterflies flitting, birds singing so happily & the honeysuckle smelling so wonderful! God is so good!
I am thankful that I am saved and have absolute assurance that one day I’ll be in heaven for all eternity! I am thankful that I am filled with the enabling power of the Holy Spirit! I am thankful to have the Word of God and the promises of God! I am thankful for my friends and family.
I am thankful that God allowed me to be a mom, even though it was only for 19 years. I’m also thankful that my son was saved so I will get to see him again and will never have to say Goodbye again.
I daily give thanks for another day with my husband of 55 years. Two years ago he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After surgery, chemo and followup, we count each day a blessing & thank our Father for His love.
I am thankful for my mother and that she is still on this earth and in good health. She is 81 years old and my best friend. She lives beside of me. I don’t know what I would do without her.
I am giving thanks today to the Lord because He has been SO good to me! Many things have changed for me in the past months: I lost my husband of 52 years — and with his passing, my very best friend — then I retired and then sold our home and moved to a different state (to be closer to a son & his family). Throughout it all, the Lord’s presence has been with me and His blessing has been evident and SO much appreciated! He has provided for me, encouraged me in His Word, and provided able assistance for me in the many, many decisions that have had to be made. God is good and I thank Him every day! Thanks for your encouragement, Liz!
I’m thankful for signs of renewal I see around me in my life and others’. I sometimes doubt that God will make all things new as He has promised but when I see redemption in the earth, in my body, and in the heart’s of those I love I am encouraged and strengthened in my faith.
What a beautiful post. This Mother’s Day weekend, my mom gone and my own son far away-I’m grateful to be able to be with my dad, who is in rehab. I get to do this. So grateful.
I’m so thankful that the Lord does not give up on me! And that he sees something in me that is worth working on and developing for His glory!
I’m so thankful for a God those what we need each season of our lives. We can rest in Him and know He is providing.
Dear Liz 🙂 I am so thankful to Jesus for you and your loving spirit to us all! I am sorry that you have to sell your farm, but I know that the Lord has wonderful plans for you! I am thankful today for Mother’s Day and that my daughter and granddaughter are here with me today!! Praise the Lord! Who needs gifts when you have love and family! God’s continued blessings upon you dear sister!
I am thankful that amid change, sometimes earth shaking change, that you Oh God are unchanging. You are our firm anchor .
Liz, I’m so thankful for this post. Those pictures are so lovely – thankful for the beautiful spring flowers and flowering trees. Were the pictures taken on your farm that you are selling? If so I can imagine the tugging on your heart as you prepare to leave it to someone else, even though it is obvious from what you wrote that it is time to do that. I want you to know how very thankful I am for your writing and teaching, your joyful spirit and great attitude. You are a blessing and an inspiration. Sending sister love, and a great big hug…
Thanking God that he gives blessing, favor and strength in spite of my failures and weakness! What a wonderful God!
Thank You Lord that You are Sovereign and have placed Jesus at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come, according to Eph 1:20-1
I’m thanking God today for the gifts and talents He gives to us! Mine happen to fall in the music area- I e taught piano, flute, and voice for over 45 years…. and never tire of our recitals , at the end of each school semester! We just had our Spring Recital last Saturday night (11th) and what a blessing to hear how the students have applied themselves and then turned around to bless their parents and friend.., and mostly to put a smile on God’s face, with the talents He has given them! To God be the Glory!
I am so in awe of God’s marvelous provision during my widowhood these last four years….I did not think I could come through this, but GOD has brought me through and is still bringing me through! He is ALWAYS faithful!!!
I enjoyed reading this and seeing all the beautiful photos. Laughing Heart Farms is just beautiful. I can’t imagine ever leaving and I thank you for sharing photos. May the Lord bless the family he brought to live there and bless you and your husband in the next season. I rejoice that you are doing well in your health. Today I am giving thanks to the Lord for attending Fresh Grounded Faith this weekend. It was the respite my body, soul and spirit needed. Continuing to pray for you my dear sister and friend and hope to see you soon. Blessings, Love and Prayers. Laurie
It’s been a crazy month with the loss of my mother and all that goes with that. But in it all has been the joyful thanksgiving that we know where she is–she is with Jesus and back with my dad, her beloved Al. But it has also been crazy with snow today and rain off and on all month. Again it is a thanksgiving for the moisture it brings to our arid state of Wyoming. Our God is amazing!!!!! So good!!!! Thanks for all you do, Liz, to keep us focused on who He is and His “amazing grace”!
There are days when you may question yourself. You may wonder if your good enough or pretty enough and if you even matter in this world. You may question your worth. You may see your failures and missed opportunities and wish how things could have been different. We ALL have these days of question. In my journey, I have learned and am still learning that my worth is not found in my failures or even in the eyes of someone else. I have to look beyond the mirror and away from my own eyes at times and see myself through the ones that love me. If I didn’t have God glasses at times, I’m not really sure how I could continue to move forward. Sometimes, I may have to remind myself more than once that I AM ENOUGH! And if you need to hear it today, I’m going to tell you…you ARE enough too! Thank you Lord for everything. For the love Liz pours out on each of us. Thanks Lord for give of Jesus…..
When I read and study God’s word now, as compared to when I read as a younger woman, I truly am “delighting in His word. This also is translating into my prayer life and keeps me connected to Him throughout each day.
