Wonderful, Marvelous, Miraculous Deeds

Wonderful Wednesday Psalm 75:1

Mind if I use the LRV translation on this one, the Lizzie Revised Version? “Encourage one another as long as it is called ‘Wednesday.’” Because as long as it’s still called Wednesday somewhere (French Polynesia, the Cook Islands), then our Wonderful Wednesday study isn’t really late, right? It’s simply living in another time zone.

Thank goodness words like these are timeless:

We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds. Psalm 75:1

Wonderful Wednesday Psalm 75:1

This verse is in every way delicious and all kinds of wonderful. Before we dive in, suppose we take a half step back to catch the opening instructions:

For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” A psalm of Asaph. A song.

Asaph was a Levite who lived during the time of David. Along with other musicians from his tribe, he “stood on the east side of the altar, dressed in fine linen and playing cymbals, harps and lyres” (2 Chronicles 5:12). Quite the spectacle. And did I mention there were also 120 priests sounding trumpets? Whoa.

These ancient Israelites were definitely making a joyful noise, but what did it sound like? Can anyone hum a few bars of “Do Not Destroy”? Sadly, the musical notes are lost to antiquity, but we can speak, shout, or sing this psalm to a melody of our own choosing.

Here we go…

Wonderful Wednesday Psalm 75:1

We praise you, God, we praise you,… Psalm 75:1

Gotta love the repetition: “We shall acknowledge to thee, we shall acknowledge” (WYC). Indeed, we shall, Lord. Praising and praising and blessing and blessing. “Yes, we give thanks!” (CEB).

He deserves an extra measure of praise, a second serving of thanks, an additional acknowledgement. How often do I thank people over and over for their small kindnesses, and yet I thank the Lord only once for His endless outpourings of love?

Lord, let me take a page from the psalmist and double my praise.

“We give thanks to you, O God! We give thanks!” (NET).

Wonderful Wednesday Psalm 75:1

…for your Name is near;… Psalm 75:1

Though not every translation or paraphrase capitalizes the word Name, I love when they do: “Your Name is near” (AMPC) and “your Name is our favorite word” (MSG). So right.

When we speak His Name — Jesus, Lord, Savior, Messiah, Wonderful — we become more aware of His presence. He doesn’t move; we do and are moved to praise Him. “Our God, we thank you for being so near to us!” (CEV).

Nothing on earth is more comforting or more praiseworthy than His presence.

Wonderful Wednesday Psalm 75:1

…people tell of your wonderful deeds. Psalm 75:1

Imagine a worship service where His “mighty works are all we talk about” (MSG). An hour or more during which people declare God’s “wondrous works” (CSB) and “marvelous deeds” (CEB), calling them out to one another in joyous celebration.

No sermon, no offering, no printed bulletins, just the chance to “rehearse” (AMPC) His wonders and “recount” (ESV) His wonderful deeds and “tell about the miracles” (NCV) our God has performed throughout eternity:

  • “He made the sun, the moon, and the stars!”
  • “He knit me in my mother’s womb!”
  • “He sacrificed His Son for our salvation!”

Maybe you’ve participated in a service like that. Call me next time? Please?

I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.” Psalm 86:12

The Women of Easter CBD Special EditionThis month, I asked what might you praise God for today. I was delighted to share copies of The Women of Easter Special Edition, available exclusively from ChristianBook.com, with three winners: Anita, Sandy, and Pat. A lovely green-and-blue hardcover, this new edition includes 16 journaling pages for your thoughts, prayers, notes, illustrations — whatever might help you dig deeper into His Story this Easter.

Thanks for joining me for another Wonderful Wednesday!

Your sister, Liz

P.S. The photos here were taken one bright winter’s day in Texas Hill Country. And the beautiful sheep painting above is the work of Fifi LeFan, a dear friend and gifted artist. Grateful to have her work hanging in my writing study, so I can get lost in those green hills whenever the mood strikes.

P.P.S. If you missed last week’s Wonderful Wednesday in the Word on Facebook LIVE, listen and watch as I share the joyous (and slightly hilarious) story of a New Testament Jesus Girl caught in the middle of a series of miracles!

I mightily praise God, my daughter who is 40 and been married for 14 years is pregnant for the first time after always wanting to be a mum all her life, she has had the older mothers blood test and all is wonderful and healthy with this precious baby girl.

The main thing I praise God for is my faith. I praise Him that I know that I know that He is real. I praise Him for the promptings of the Holy Spirit of His still small voice….and that His Son died on a cross for a sinner like me.

I praise the Lord for His transforming grace that He has poured over me again and again! I praise Him that even though he knows every part of me, every skeleton in my closet, every wicked thought and every wasted word, He has still chosen, accepted, redeemed and loved me. All for His own glory. He has been so good to me! How can I not praise Him??

  19. Linda February 14, 2019 at 4:53 am #

I praise the Lord for His healing miracles! He gave me a second chance at life to serve Him. In May of last year I had ‘minor’ surgery, expecting to be in and out of the hospital in about two hours. I developed laryngospasm during recovery and went into cardiac and respiratory arrest and for forty-five minutes, I underwent CPR. Our Lord showed up and showed out and brought me back. The physicians in attendance told my husband it was only a miracle from God that I survived and survived without any brain or neurological damage at all!! I tell you, it was answered prayers! My husband, sisters, surgeon, friends were all crying out to Him and He allowed me another chance to serve Him. How can I not praise Him every single day!

Thank you Lord, for the gift of LIZ in my life these last 17 years.. I praise you for the way she has always pointed me to you in my darkest hours…. How she saw me, when nobody else did…how she loves me and values me with her warm heart. Thank you for the hugs, and the tears, the laughter and the wonder…that she Gets me…in a world where many do not. I praise you God, for showing me what friendship can mean, what your grace looks like, in the life of my friend, who I could never paint enough paintings for in return. She doesn’t need them, just like you don’t need anything I bring. You only want me to receive Your love. Thanks on this Valentines Day, which is like most others to me, that Liz is a gift from Your heart to mine.

Yesterday I went to my pre-op appointment for my knee replacement surgery in 2 weeks. My surgeon told me he wouldn’t do the surgery because my A1C was too high and until I got it down, infection was too risky. I have had severe pain in my knee for 2 years and I was finally going to get this problem fixed, so I was devastated. After a good cry, I realized that this was God’s way of getting my health to where it should be. I hadn’t been following my diabetic program, so this was His “wakeup” call to me. I am more invigorated in getting my health into a better place than I have ever been before. I believe that without God’s intervention, even though I was so devastated, I would have had great difficulty in healing and I would not have such incentive to live better, eat better and do what I need to do. Thank you God!

Today I praise Him for hesed – His loving-kindness, His steadfast love – that He bestows on me every day. I am so grateful for His love and mercies that are new every morning.

  44. Candy February 14, 2019 at 7:52 am #

How funny! How God-like! I had just finished thanking God for several things he has done this year while I nursed our new baby. Then I laid him down and checked my email. Praise Him twice. Do it again. So here I go . . . my husband has had a few heart tests and one even showed improvement, my little one did not have to go to a specialist about surgery on his head, we bought a new house which we love yet requires a lot of repairs, our little one needs to see a specialist about his eyes, and most of all, through all that has already happened this year, God has been right there with me. I haven’t faced it all fearlessly or stresslessly, but I am trying to continuously give it all to Him. He is good!

I thank God for His love for me and how it flows through me to others. As I do prison ministry, His love gives me the ability to love the men and women I serve. Whether I know their crime or not, I love them. It doesn’t matter. I love serving them, sharing His love with them, sharing His Word with them, and telling them of His great love for them.

I am praising God today ( and everyday) for my wonderful, godly husband ( and the father of our children ). He is such a blessing to me, our kids, and our grand kids.

I want to share an adventure we will be taking in early July – we will be traveling across country from Utica NY to Moses Lake WA by train, we will spend a few weeks with our daughter and her family, and then take the train to Flagstaff AZ to visit our other daughter, and then back home to arrive in Utica on Sept. 3rd. Just the 2 of us ( for the most part ) on a second honeymoon, so romantic. I just love this man with all of my heart.

    • Polly February 14, 2019 at 11:03 am #

What a fun trip! I lived in Spokane (just east of Moses lake) for 33 years and now live two hours south of Flagstaff, so I know the areas you are traveling. Enjoy!!

Much praise has been going up to our gracious Lord and savior this week. My dear Mom ( who has gone to Scotland with you twice) fell on Monday near her mailbox. Two wonderful neighbors and a lady driving by all stopped to help. She dislocated her shoulder which is so painful but the repair is quick, the recovery is much shorter. At 87 bones are weak and so much more could have been damaged. How we praise and thank Him for his protection, for caring neighbors and so far no other complications!!

Such a Blessing! I don’t typically respond to blogs I read but this one was special. I’m teaching through Daniel and God has blessed me with 30 wonderful seeking Christian’s who want to know Him more. So your comments on praise and thanks touched my heart again. I gave the book you’re giving to a special lady in my church when it came out…. an autographed copy I had gotten attending one of your events. I agree with your friend, the painter, Liz- you are a wonderful gift from God – and your laughter is the best infection 🙂 !!

I am so thankful for being raised by Christian parents, who LIVED their faith daily. Every organ in mom’s body was diseased, she had two kinds of cancer, numerous ailments of other forms, and her ability to hear left her in her late 30’s. Because I was born after she became deaf, she never heard my voice. When I asked her if she ever got depressed, she said, “I have a blue day now and then; I just don’t stay there.” When diagnosed with parkinson’s disease and dimentia, she said, “It could always be worse. I could be blind, and that would be worse.” This is just a small glimpse into the mindset of this amazing woman. I am forever grateful for the spiritual teachings of my angel on earth that God gave to me and I called mom.

Hi Liz! I praise the Lord today for my best friend. Over the past few years I had to move away from all of my close friends. I then lost my Mom 4 years ago, and had become extremely lonely. It can be difficult to make new friends in your 50’s, however, God knew just who I needed in my life and brought her into it 2 years ago. I now know what it is to have a covenant friend. She would do anything for me and vice versa. Thank you Lord so much!!!

I have so much to praise and glorify God for this morning. My hubby is very ill and not able to work. I and my Bible Study group prayed for a miracle and God showed up and showed off. Hubby ended up in the hospital again for low blood pressure and not able to breath. They discovered they had him on too many heart medications. Removed 4 and he is better. Also he was approved for Social Security Disability this week which means we can save our house! It is so humbling to even think that God hears us and cares for us so much. All praise and glory to my ever present Father God.

Today I praise his Name for the wonderful man I am married to…he demonstrates love, caring and compassion for all even though he is living through cancer treatment and most recently the tragic loss of a son. Lol As anyone knows marriage is not always easy, but we’ve been working at it for twenty-two years. (And it just keeps getting better and better.) Blessings to you Liz, thank you for being you. You bring a smile to my face every time I get an email or see you on Facebook. 🙂

I praise the Lord on this Valentines Day for my wonderful husband. The Lord delivered him from alcohol addiction 38 years ago. As our love for the Lord has grown so has our love for one another. We are truly blessed.

  76. Regina Wright February 14, 2019 at 9:44 am #

I praise God for His perfect peace that passes all understanding and giving me faith to believe what I cannot see. Praying for my prodigal child and believing that He who began a good work in him will be faithful to complete it also surrounding this momma with His presence as we wait oh His perfect timing.

Life with rare diseases has taught me that there is always something for which to be thankful. Blessings abound when we appreciate the small things. When we focus on God and His blessings, we are able to persevere because He is our strength and hope. I’m thankful for His presence in my life!

  78. Judy February 14, 2019 at 9:47 am #

I’m thankful today for Jesus who has walked with me for the last three-plus years since my husband passed away. Without him walking with me and taking care of me I probably would not make it through each day so I am thankful for the Savior who loves me regardless of what happens or how I mess up.

  79. Amy February 14, 2019 at 9:49 am #

I am so thankful for the Lord bringing me up out of the valley before loss occurred in my family. I wouldn’t have been able to weather it otherwise. He has carried me through. And the more I praise him the more Joy and Peace I experience. I praise Him for his faithfulness!

  80. Kathy Kiggins February 14, 2019 at 9:49 am #

Praising God for His endless love and continuous faithfulness. (Having come from a church where we did have services in which people were encouraged to share praises and testimonies, I am reminded of how good it was to praise God and hear how He was working in other peoples lives.)

  81. Sheila Payne February 14, 2019 at 10:01 am #

I praise God that He sends me hope. Our world seems scary and hard to me quite often. I fear a lot. But He often soothes me with hope.

  82. taritasiler@gmail.com February 14, 2019 at 10:03 am #

Praise our gracious, amazing Savior. He has delivered me from fear and from anxiety. After divorce, I was broken, in pieces, barely able to stand at times. He is my all. He has challenged me to make a new start. He has given me love and purpose and has guided me to serve and love and use the new freedom I have found to reach out and help others who are also hurting.

I love my Savior for His amazing work and His peace which surpasses our earthly understanding. I am in awe of His wonders and the way He works each part of our lives into something wonderful if we trust Him.

  83. Kathy Johnson February 14, 2019 at 10:10 am #

I am praising God for snow! We have an incredible abundance of it this year and we are all getting a bit tired of it. But its beauty is beyond description and I feel privileged to be able to enjoy time outside with my camera. It’s a great reminder that God’s blessings fall as abundantly as the snow and His blood washed us as clean and white as the snow!

  84. Sarah Peer February 14, 2019 at 10:17 am #

Praise God for His perfection! Everything He does has purpose and meaning! He knows all, nothing slips from His thought. Every word, thought, hope and desire is heard and known by Him.

  85. Diana Wilson February 14, 2019 at 10:19 am #

So thankful that in the midst of chaos in our country today that God is still (and always) in control. Nothing takes Him by surprise.

  86. Debbie February 14, 2019 at 10:23 am #

Praising God for His forgiveness and unfailing love. No matter how many times I have to confess the same sin He is faithful to forgive and loves me unconditionally.

  87. Pat Williams February 14, 2019 at 10:32 am #

My praise today to God is my thankfulness for how He has placed our son, our daughter, and now even a grandson in the place where He has persons who love them dearly and have become life companions!!!

  88. Barbara Bailey February 14, 2019 at 10:32 am #

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for me. My 8 year old Sheltie was just diagnosed with lymphoma. There is no cure, just treatment for the time being. I know in many people’s minds a dog is not on the same level as a person or family member dealing with cancer. We know that trial as well, as my sister in law has been battling pancreatic cancer for 2 years now. So my heart is broken watching my dog, Sapphire, go through this. But God…in almost every of my morning devotionals I read of how God sees and knows and cares – even for me in my heartache over my beloved dog. So I will praise Him for all of His blessings along this road, even when it hurts so much. Thank you for sharing His Word, Liz.

  89. Ginnie February 14, 2019 at 10:37 am #

Praising God for all His wonderful blessings up to this day. In the middle of all kinds of things that are happening He is faithful,

  90. Vicki Moore February 14, 2019 at 10:39 am #

Praising God for His faithfulness even when my faithfulness falters.

  91. Lea Deisher February 14, 2019 at 10:43 am #

Praise God that I have a home, a car, a job, family, great co-workers, a wonderful church, even my dog is so very special to me (she came from a good friend who had cancer). I have a picture of sheep too that I love. A friend was in Ireland and took a photo of sheep on a green hillside with a little white church in the background. It is such a great reminder that we are the sheep on that hillside, dependent on the Shepherd to guide us.

Dearest Liz – I only found you in the last year and love your writings and insight! I am most grateful for the fact that I have my husband back “again” after the most recent medical happening. A nasty fall two weeks ago caused “altered mental state” as the doctors tend to call it, but I believe it was another mini stroke this time that caused his gibberish and not knowing where he was and yet our dear Lord brought him out of it in a day and I have him back again. Through our almost 40 years together we have gone through many many Medical happenings and we just call him our miracle guy for God brings him back every time. Thank you for the chance to say hello and to possibly win your book about the “Women of Easter”.

I would love to be in a spontaneous service of praise to God!! What a amazing thing to think of!! I would praise Him for 6 years of cancer free living, for His constant strength and abiding presence. It was and is that peace that passes understanding!! So precious!! I would also praise Him for family, friends, church, the list would be endless. Thanks, Liz, for your encouragement and teaching. It is tremendous.

I am thankful for the variety of weather I’ve experienced in the past month in NE Ohio (YES, I like snow! 🙂 HE has washed me whiter than snow! I am thankful GOD is a GOD of order and details! I love watching the birds & squirrels, (& sometimes even a skunk!) hunting through the compost I dumped at the back of my yard (behind me is an apple orchard! 🙂 ) I love my 2½ year old grandson’s questions: “Where sun go?” “What is this?” (pronounced like it’s one word!) “Where’d it go?” (again, pronounced as one word!) I am thankful for my other 4 grandsons, ages 14½, 11, 8 months and 3 months! That’s just for starters–there’s not enough time, or room on this post to list everything… 🙂

Thank you for posting. I always enjoy your words about His Word.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!❤️

I love your comment on GOD’s “Name”–in every one of my Bibles I have circled the word “Name” in red and highlighted it in yellow when it refers to GOD! From Genesis to Revelation, it is a reminder immediately when I turn to a page with that how precious and important HE is!

  102. Tracey D. February 14, 2019 at 12:05 pm #

I’m praising God for a wonderful Valentine’s morning with my granddaughter Maggie and for her perfect health after surgery for a femur fracture and bone cyst. I’m also praising God that I have been cancer free for 9 years now. I’m praising the Lord for our family members who each know the Lord and are learning how to walk closer to Him in the midst of life here on earth!

  103. Marlene February 14, 2019 at 12:09 pm #

We can never “over” praise the LORD. Even saying thank You, seems so inadequate for all He has done. For a while the Holy Spirit continues to lay on my heart just to pause and say “Thank You LORD for never giving up on me! Even when I wasn’t turned to Your face, You were right there loving waiting for me to turn around and be embraced. ” Just think about what Jesus left to come into the world He did–even where He did–for us. How can you not PRAISE HIM. Ladies take time to look what He has brought you from and where He has brought you to. Oh the never ending all consuming wonderful love of God!!

  104. Vicki Warner February 14, 2019 at 12:24 pm #

I am thankful for color!! As I look out my “sitting room” window each morning drinking my coffee, I marvel at all the different shades of color in God’s creation. Each season has its own unique “coloring”. I don’t know for sure, but it must have brought God pleasure to see all the color He created. I think He delights in that it brings us pleasure and wonder when we see a beautiful sunrise/sunset, a clear blue sky, the first buds of spring, the sun causing sparkling diamonds on the ocean, a colorful bird or butterfly, the color of leaves in the fall, snow falling, and I could go on and on!! “We give thanks to you O God, we give thanks!”

I needed a reminder to praise the Lord today, after 10 days of traveling, I am finally home! Four loads of laundry, and the bills and mail sorted, I am finally turning to my email and lying down for a much-needed nap. Praise God for a cozy home on this wintry and windy day in Colorado.

I praise God for all His many blessings in my life! My husband of 26 years, and my four now adult (19-24) children! I’m even glad that they are still at home, trying to figure out their lives and that I can have an influence on them and pray that God leads them to His plan and purpose for them.

I praise God in humility knowing that before He created the universe, He knew me and He knew my sins, He knew He would send His Son and Redeeming Lamb for me, to redeem me,…. and He did this for every soul that He knew would choose Him. This is Agape!!

  108. Debby Zigenis-Lowery February 14, 2019 at 12:50 pm #

So many wonderful praises already! My addition is simple, but it is applicable on almost all occasions: I praise God because he is kind, he is wise, and he chose to love me.
I also thank God for you and your wonderful ministry. I met you once at the Oregon Christian Writing Conference in Portland, Oregon, and it was my delight to get to eat dinner and converse with you, and then pray over you before you got up to speak. And then, on the third night, God blessed me again when you came and sat down beside me and I was able to enjoy another wonderful dinner table conversation with you, and the privilege of praying for you before you spoke.
Thank you for this blog, and all your writing!

Thank You, God, for Your Strength, in Your Joy, that You make known to Us! Thank, You, God, for Contentment. Thank You, God, for Your “All-Knowing” Presence, that You know more than any human can ever imagine. In essence, ” I thank You, God, for our imaginations. I thank, You, God, that You are the final Judge and “Say”, for each individual! You are Our, Righteous Judge. IF, it were up to us, we’d sacrifice the “innocent”, or set the guilty free! (does History repeat itself?) I thank You, God, for the ability to make right and just decisions under Your guidance and discernment. Above, and beyond, what we “see” as true. You are Truth. We, being all “GUILTY”, until, we BELIEVE, TRULY, in JESUS CHRIST, the Savior of our souls. I thank God, for giving me Grace, instilling Faith, iN TRUTH, that Jesus SAVES ME, from my sins! OR, I’d be “working” at it, for, my salvation, until I died, wasting my time and boxing at the wind… The perfectionist…I Thank GOD, we can praise, the name, above all names: Jesus Christ! God delights in us when we praise, He truly has Joy when He sees us, praising in the storm and while suffering! TRUSTING, THAT WHAT HE TRULY SAID, HE WILL DO, THAT HE WILL DO IT! THANK YOU GOD, THAT WE ARE SAVED IN JESUS CHRIST, TRUTH, IT’S A FACT, WE ARE SAVED FROM OUR SINS. I THANK YOU, GOD, FOR THE “REST”, THAT YOUR SON, JESUS , GIVES MY SOUL. AND I WISH, EVERYONE ‘KNEW’ THIS KIND OF REST, FOR THE SOUL. It’s amazing the power that He invokes in us, and upon us, as we praise thru our storms, trusting in Him, that He is, True, and Ours, Forever. Amen. I THANK GOD FOR PEACE, PEACE FOR THE SOUL. I THANK YOU, GOD, FOR DIRECTING MY PATH, NO MATTER WHAT, AND, THAT I CAN TRUST IN YOU, FIRST, AND LEAVE THE CONSEQUENCES TO YOU! THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING US TO KNOW YOU, INTIMATELY, IN CHRIST, THE ONE TRUE GOD, AND THAT YOU ARE GUIDING US, AND WE KNOW IT, FOR A FACT. I thank YOU, God, for the CONFIDENCE, GIVEN TO US IN JESUS CHRIST, AND THE STRENGTH TO FOLLOW HIM TO THE END, OF EACH ONE OF OUR JOURNEYS! PRAISE BE TO GOD, OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN AND CREATOR OF ALL THE EARTH, AND FOR SENDING HIS SON, TO REDEEM US FROM OUR SINS! WHAT A MAGNIFICENT GIFT WE HAVE RECEIVED FROM OUR FATHER! JESUS CHRIST, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK, YOU. GOD IS LOVE, INEXPRESSIBLE.

I praise God today that He gave me the grace to remain calm and not offer a harsh retort to a woman who cursed and screamed at me in the waiting room at the medical center. She is a very negative and bitter woman and 3 years ago I decided to become a Secret Sister to her. I’d sent her notes & cards and books. During my devotional time last Friday, God placed on my heart to give her a box of tissues (she had a cold) and a devotional book. I asked the nurse to give the items to her. Well this morning the woman screamed at me and used profanity. She threw an object at me (fortunately it flew past me and landed on the floor with a loud clang.) She expressed that she didn’t want anything from me, even after I revealed that God placed on my heart and I’d been praying for her. She continued her tirade, shouting and alarming others in the waiting room. I never raised my voice anytime during the exchange. Others in the room tried to quiet her, finally a nurse came and wheeled her back for treatment. The onlookers expressed concern but I told them that I forgive her, she probably is lashing out because she is hurting in some way. Hurting people hurt people.

Two days before Christmas I almost lost my thirty-two year old husband and father of our children to a condition we had no idea he had. Before we even knew we needed the Lord’s touch of healing, my husband had already received it. And he continued to, minute-by-minute – even down to a well placed deer in the road – until we got him the medical help he needed. The timing of it all was simply impeccable. Here I am, almost two months later, still awestruck at how perfectly God allowed every second to fall into place. Now, as we look ahead trusting God for his plan in our pending adoption, I’m thanking Him as we wait; knowing He has every detail already mapped out – down to the very second. There was never a moment He left me lonely. Today, I want to be found praising for what He has already done, believing for what’s yet to come and celebrating the little victories along the way. For He is always GOOD even when circumstances are not.

O God,when our hearts cry out for answers You hear our cries. Help me to wait for your timing and to be still and to know You are God. When I have no words to give in comfort You wrap Your arms silently, strongly but gently and protectively around them. When I hurt for the lost kids in our mission church, You hurt with me and collect all my tears and record them in Your book so I know You are there. When I don’t think I can listen to one more problem or one more hurt, You tell me, “My grace is sufficient, My power is made perfect in weakness.” Thank You for Your Word, for its encouragement, strength and reminder of Who You Are, the Great I AM.

When I look out the window at the beautiful sunrise with the pink and orange hues cascading over the trees along with the sparkling fresh snow covered lawns, I thank God for being privileged to see such beauty. What grace! And then as if that was not a gift enough, He asks me to sit and have coffee with Him in this still and peaceful morning because He wants to talk with me. What an honor! So I am sitting here having coffee with Jesus in a warm home. What a blessing! Thank you Jesus!

I praise You, GOD, for bringing the Friday Sisters together to study Your Word and bear one another’s burdens ❤️

I’m thankful, Lord for my sisters -in-Christ that You have sent to me. I’m thankful they came to my house for our weekly Bible study even on Valentines day, even though it was very cold and snowy and the roads were bad. I’m thankful they compliment my poor example of homemaker skills and ate and complimented me on my failed attempt at strawberry roses I made for Valentine’s for them. I’m so grateful for the stories we all share and how their faith strengthens and renews me each week. Thank you Jesus for your amazing grace!

I praise the Lord for all the times in my life that He has been taking care of me when I didn’t even know I was in danger.

I praise God for the gift of His Son, Jesus, my Savior.

Liz, your upbeat style shines through your writing–what a gift. I am thankful for so many things–life, safe travels for my husband, a warm house and the ability to stay home when it’s bitterly cold outside, a relationship with Jesus, God’s Word to open whenever I choose, and the list goes on and on.

I’m praising God for child-like faith! My 4 year old son has such a powerful love for God and is like a sponge, soaking up every ounce of knowledge he can learn. He had even begun asking questions about salvation and when he can ask Christ to be his savior! 😍 I praise God for the faith he had and that God is constantly teaching me not only how to grow my faith alongside my children, but how to be a godly mother and set a good example for them as well!

Thank you, Liz, for sharing your beautiful words and lovely photos. I especially enjoyed the photo that included the painting of the sheep.

I praise Jesus tonight for godly, precious women like yourself who are so committed to the Word and share with us what you learn! God’s timing is always perfect. Blessings to you.

Praise Him, praise him for the beautiful wonderful rain after too many years of drought! As the rain soaks into the dry soil, so His love soaks into my heart.

I praise the Heavenly Father for the laughter of children and the love of older people. I just came back from a luncheon for our JOY Club group (Just Older Youth) for our 50+ adults and the children in our Preschool. It is so nice to see young and old mingling together. I thank God for the activeness of the children and wisdom of the adults. God is so good to all of us.

I am grateful that my 14 year old grandson ASKED to ho to church tomorrow after an extended absence. And his friend is going with us! Lord touch us all, please.

I praise God for His unconditional love. For His grace and forgiveness that wipes my sin as far as the east is from the west. I praise Him for being my Strength each and every day. For listening to my heart’s cry when there aren’t anymore words coming from my lips. I praise Him for the gift of my two sons-that they are men after God’s own heart, seeking His will for their lives. I praise Him for those little “glory moments” that lift me up to move forward in His power. Praise be to God!

I praise Jesus for life! Physical life, including healing from illness, but especially spiritual life, eternal life, which began the minute I gave my heart to Him. So, so thankful! And He is completely worthy of all praise!

I praise God for giving me the job I didn’t want, allowing me to be available for all my daughter’s medical needs.

I praise God that I am in His hands and can trust Him with His plans for my life. Whatever happens, He can handle, I will not worry.

When God wanted to emphasize something to us He repeated it. How right that we should repeat our praises back to Him. We love you our Father, We LOVE you our Father! You are worthy of praise, worthy of praise.

I am praising the Lord for His Amazing and Wonderful report from the Neurologist for my Daddy a couple of weeks ago. He came through with shining colors. From Bible memory scriptures that night to watching the sun rise on the way to the appointment that morning, God displayed His Glory, Power and Love!!! I’m still rejoicing at His goodness and mercy every day. I love my Daddy so very much!!! He has always shown me my Heavenly Father’s love!!!

I am thankful that Liz and members of her family traveled all the way out to Washington state, where she was the featured speaker for the Olympic Peninsula Women’s Fellowship conference this weekend.

A great time of fellowship, laughter and getting to be “ourselves.” Helped me to look at some of the obstacles in my way and what I need to do about them.

Hated to see it end, glad the snow didn’t stay on Friday morning or I might have missed it.

    Hi Liz,
I want to thank you for posting about the Women of Easter book special. My bible study group is going to study this book soon and with the special price we were able to purchase more books so we can invite more women to join us.

    Thank you so much.

Hi Liz! I read your post on the marvelous things that God has done for us and I found it to be spiritually invigorating. I also saw the FB lesson that you shared about Lydia and you made me feel as though I were hearing this story for the first fime. Thanks so much for making the reading schedule available for your book, The Women of Easter. My copy of the book should arrive at my house tomorrow and I can hardly wait to start reading it. It will be a key part In my Lenten faith journey this year. I thank the Lord for you, Liz, and all that He is accomplishing through you.
