I love everything about December. The dark mornings. the moody grayness of the sky, the silence of falling snow. Against that somber backdrop, candlelight shines brighter, music rings merrier, and our hearts open wider in expectation.
The Messiah is coming. The Messiah is here. The Messiah will come again.
Our verse this month is a multifaceted wonder:
LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago. Isaiah 25:1
LORD, you are my God;… Isaiah 25:1
A statement of fact. A statement of faith. “You, LORD, are my God!” (CEV). We are boldly proclaiming the proper name of the God of Israel and our deeply personal relationship with Him.
Even after three dozen years of knowing Him, I’m still astounded by this truth — I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine (Song of Songs 6:3).
Is He yours, dear friend? Can you say the words — “Lord, you are my God” — with your whole heart?
If not, perhaps this is your season to fall into His loving embrace. If your answer is yes, this is your next step.
…I will exalt you and praise your name,… Isaiah 25:1
When we love someone and are proud of what they’ve accomplished, we gladly brag about them to anybody who’ll listen. (Grandparents are especially good at this.)
How much more, then, should we brag about our God. He is so worthy of our applause and so deserving of our public praise. That’s why Isaiah declared, “I will honor” (NLT) and “celebrate” (MSG) and “extol your fame” (NET). The Hebrew word literally means “to rise, to lift up.”
The Lizzie Revised Version? “Look at this, everybody!” (LRV)
See, it’s not enough to silently acknowledge His greatness in our prayers. We need to say it aloud. We need to tell the world. We need to speak His Name.
…for in perfect faithfulness… Isaiah 25:1
Isn’t this phrase delicious? Perfect faithfulness. It’s a finished work, something God has already “accomplished” (CJB) and “fulfilled” (AMP) and “faithfully carried out” (GNT).
Your faithfulness never ends, Lord. “You have always done what you said you would do” (EXB). Always.
…you have done wonderful things,… Isaiah 25:1
There it is, our word for 2019: wonderful. “Miracle-wonders” (MSG) like filling Elizabeth with the Holy Spirit. “Marvels” (CJB) like an angel army singing to a flock of awestruck shepherds. And “miraculous things” (AMP) like a virgin giving birth to the Savior of the world.
Yes, Lord, You have done wonderful things. May we always be quick to see and swift to praise. Because miracles don’t occur by happenstance. You planned them from the beginning.
… things planned long ago. Isaiah 25:1
These wonders were “planned and promised since ancient times” (CEV). Before the coming of man. Before the coming of earth. Before the coming of time. So “long, long ago” (AMP) that You alone were present, Lord.
Unlike our plans, which are ever changing, You created “well-thought-out plans, solid and sure” (MSG), the embodiment of “truth unchanging” (JUB).
This is why we speak Your name without apology, Jesus. This is why, especially at Christmastime, we point to the miracle of Your love unfolding and sing with the angels, “Glory to God!”
Heavenly Father, help us always stand in awe of Your perfect faithfulness. In the sweet name of Jesus, Amen.
’Tis the season for stories. So, here’s this month’s special giveaway — a Victorian novella for a fiction reader, a picture book for a little one, and a verse-by-verse look at our Savior’s birth through the eyes of Elizabeth, Mary, and Anna. On Tuesday, December 17, I chose one wonderful winner, Margaret from California, to receive all three of my best-selling Christmas books.
You are still welcome to post your answer to the question, “What would you say to the newborn Jesus, nestled in a manger?”
Your sister, Liz
P.S. If you missed December’s Wonderful Wednesday on Facebook LIVE, watch and listen now as we meet our final Jesus Girl of 2019, Anna the Prophetess from Luke 2. And if you’re curious where I’m speaking next year, take a look at my calendar. We have 20 events scheduled for 2020, with more details to come. Can’t wait to see you!
All praise to you! Bless your Holy name!
My Lord and my Savior. How precious you are!
You are the best gift ever. Thank you for coming, loving and saving. Oh how I’ve love you!
I would want to hold him and do the Mexican Hat dance like my grandma, mama, and I do when we see a newborn BUT baby Jesus would get my tears of joy on his face!!! Thank Jesus for always being FAITHFUL!!
I would say “Oh Holy Lord! You are so precious!”
You are precious! Thank for coming into the word to save sinners.
To the newborn baby Jesus, I would say, “I don’t have gifts to bring like the wise men. Thank you for coming to earth to be our Savior. ” “I give you my life.”
Behold my KING!
Thank you!
Alleluia!!! Thank you Lord!
If I could speak I would say thank you for coming to earth!
I would say to baby Jesus, ” You are such a precious little bundle of joy. Thank you so much for bringing hope and love to each of us!”
Thank You Jesus !!! for leaving the wonders of Heaven and intentionally coming to earth to suffer SO much so I can belong to You !!! (Thank You that I AM Yours !!!!)

Welcome sweet little babe. You are blessed to be a blessing to this confused world. Can’t wait to see your gifts!
To the newborn baby Jesus, I would say, “I don’t have gifts to bring like the wise men. Thank you for coming to earth to be our Savior. ” “I give you my life.”
Thank you for coming
Welcome to my heart.
I love you.
Thank you for being my Savior and coming for me.
I would tell him I love him.
I truly feel I’d be crying so hard that I’d be lucky to be to squeak out a pitiful, ‘Thank you’.
Merry Christmas Liz!
I would say to Jesus, “Oh, how we need You!”
Thank you for coming to save us!
I would say thank you for coming to save me from my sins.
Sweet baby Jesus – what wondrous things you will do!
I believe I would find myself speechless…falling to my knees in tears so as to worship my Precious Savior.
Oh baby Jesus…I love You!
Debbie~
Thank you.
Gracious Savior, thank you for sharing your love and sacrificing your life to save the world. May we humbly serve you and glorify you through each day we are given.
I would say, Dear Lord, thank you for coming to earth. Please let me take you and your family into my home. I have room and you will be warm. Your family will be well cared for.
Behold the Lamb
Jesus, I love you more each passing day, thank you again for finding me in total Darkness and bringing me into your Light. Forever grateful. Lots of love, Claudia Clark
I would just say Wow. I am so overwhelmed by his love and sacrifice that I would just gaze at his sweet face and stand in awe.
I am so glad to see you sweet Jesus and so thankful you have come to save us from our sins!
I would so in awe of Who He is, I’d cry just like Him-a baby.
baby Jesus thank you for coming in to our world
With tears in my eyes I would fall at his side and say, “Thank you.” I know that’s not enough but there just aren’t words to express to him what he would be about to do for me, for us.
I would tell baby Jesus, “Thank you for coming to this sin filled earth to forgive me of my sins.”
Welcome Lord Jesus
Thank you for coming. We’ve been waiting for You and are desperate for You.
——
Liz, thank you for the chance to win! Merry Christmas!
With many tears I would say I love you Baby Jesus. Thank you for coming to save us!
You are so precious Jesus. It is so easy to love you. Thank you for loving me like you do and coming to earth to save me. You are amazing.
I would say “thank you for stepping down from your throne and enduring the cross for me.”
I am truly blessed to have met you in person!!! You have changed my life with yours!! I can’t wait to spend eternity with you!!
Debby
Thank you for loving me, dying for me, saving me from sin, for eternity with YOU!
I was just cooing at my seven month old granddaughter right before reading this. I think I would say to him, “Jesus, you are so precious. I love you more than words can say.”
I would first fall to my knees, both in wonder and that I might be closer to baby Jesus. I would say (if I can talk through the tears and heart-shattering emotions), “Oh my sweet, dear baby Jesus, Lord of my life and Creator of everything! Thank You for coming, for loving me so much that You are going to suffer unimaginable pain, persecution, and – worst of all – separation from God, while taking MY punishment upon Your sinless self. Oh Jesus, I am so sorry for what You are going to go through, and I thank You more than I can ever say for loving me and making me holy and giving me access to the Father through Your cleansing blood. I love You, Jesus. Remove everything from me that is not of You, and fill me with Your Spirit. Thank you.
Welcome Lord Jesus! We are so Blessed to have this most precious gift of salvation!
Pure Love
Thank you. May I daily live my life in ways that honor you🥰
Welcome my Lord! Help me to learn all I can while you are hear. For now can i just watch in your glorious sleep.
Oh sweet child. So beautiful and innocent in a world that is just in need of you. You don’t know your fate yet but know how much of a beautiful blessing you are. Eternally grateful for you.
I can’t imagine not saying the same thing I say to all the newborns I meet, “welcome to our world, little one.”
I love you.
What I would say would depend on whether I knew who that precious Baby was at that moment, and whether I understood what He had already done for me by lying in that manger. I don’t think words could adequately convey the depth of gratitude I would feel if I knew and comprehended that marvelous Birth.
Thank you, my precious Jesus, for coming to earth to take my place on the cross and give me the gift of salvation and eternal life.
Knowing what I know now about Jesus, I think I’d just cry–out of thankfulness and humility. Before time was, before Jesus was born, He was my Savior.
I believe I would be speechless, much like I was when my first child was born. My tears would have to speak for me…
I’m so glad you’re here, Jesus… thank you!
You are the most wonderful gift in the world!! Thank you for leaving your home and coming here to save us by your suffering, death and resurrection. I believe in you, I believe you will come again. Praise and Glory to you oh Lord!!
Nothing. I’d be overwhelmed and nothing is sweeter than a newborn baby to hold.
Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me so much that you leave Heaven, experience humanness without sinning, die in my place and live to intercede for me with the Father. All glory, laud and honor to You, Redeemer, King.
What I would say to the newborn baby Jesus in the manger is this:
“Thank You!”
Is thank you even enough?
I would fall on my knees & fold my hands & pray.Welcome to the world baby Jesus. I am thankful for your birth. You are amazing. I love you & trust you.
I have been watching for you. I am so glad you are here. Happy Christmas to us all!
My Lord and my God!!! My heart is yours!!!
I would say, “You are perfect. You are holy. Thank you for coming to earth to show me how to spend my life so that in the end, I will grow up to be just like You.” I think that is how I would answer the question “What would you say to the newborn Jesus, nestled in a manger?”
My Lord and my God
I would hope I would bow down and praise Him! But since he was a tiny babe I would probably squeeze His holy little cheeks!
“You’re going to do awesome things!”
I’ve been waiting for You. You are perfect and right on time
“Your baby’s breath breathes life into these dry bones!”
Thank you and you are the eternal light of the world.
Oh, precious Emmanuel, thank you for coming to us. All glory, praise and honor are yours.
I don’t think I would even be able to speak, but if I could, I would ask if I could hold Him, and as I glazed into His face, I believe I would whisper “I love You” with tears falling from my eyes and peace in my heart.
oh Precious….thank you for coming…..for being obedient…..for being willing…..for bringing love…..
What I would say to the baby Jesus:
Hello, my precious one.
Thank you, Jesus. I am so unworthy. I love you.
I praise your name.
I would say, “How can you be the Holy One wrapped up in such a small bundle, I don’t know how, I only know I believe.”
I would humbly bow and say, My Lord, I honor and praise you. I am not
worthy of a wonderful gift of your presence. Thank you for everything that you have done for me and continue to do. I love you, Lord Jesus.
I Love you Jesus ❤️ & Thank you.
Jesus, thank you for coming to us! We are so glad you’re here! We give you all the glory you are due!
YOU are precious! Thank you for coming to earth for me, and all of mankind!
Ha! I wouldn’t even be able to speak at all if I was in the presence of Baby Jesus!
I would be speechless.
If I knew that He was truly the Messiah, I would hope that I would be able to bow down and worship Him with a little song of praise, and honor and glorify Him! I would make room in my heart and give Him my heart!
“What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd I would bring a lamb.
If I were a Wise Man I would do my part.
Yet what can I give Him? … Give Him my heart!”
I love you!
Thank you for coming to earth to save us. I believe!
Thank you for coming. May I rock you in my arms.
I would say to the Christ Child in the manger:
I don’t understand why You would do this, but I want to thank You
from the bottom of my heart.
I’m so sorry… but, thank You.
Thank you for taking on flesh to save mine!
With tears of joy streaming down my cheeks, “Thank you Jesus”
Wow..If I could talk to our Messiah in that manger that night I don’t know if I would have been able to say the words. If I could manage sound, I would say, “Thank you! Thank you for lowering yourself so low to become man because you love us so much!” I also think I would have to do some cuddling and rocking because that’s what this good southern girl does any time she’s presented with the chance.
What a blessed sacrifice and praise You Jesus for Your gift of salvation to me
Thank you for coming and bringing hope to a lost and hurting world. Francesca Battistelli – Messiah (Official Lyric Video) https://youtu.be/D14wX0K9XJQ
What would I say to the Baby Jesus?
I LOVE YOU!
When I think about what I would say to baby Jesus, the song “I Can Only Imagine” pops in my head. Would I even be able to speak at all? If I was able, I guess would say 2 simple words, that day it all, THANK YOU!
I would fall down on my knees, with tears running down my cheeks, thanking baby Jesus for coming in to this world just to save me!
Welcome, my Savior and King!
Thank you so much and I love you!
I would say, “I’m so excited to meet You. May I hug You?”
I would say, “Thank you Lord Jesus for loving me enough to leave your father and your home in Heaven to come to earth with the full knowledge of the suffering and crucifixion that is before you. Thank you for loving me so much that you would rather suffer and die a cruel death instead of letting me go into eternity without you. I praise you for who you are, and I love you because you first loved me.”
I would hold our Savior tightly in my arms and thank Him while rocking and giving Him lots of love and kisses!
Precious One, the thought of you dying for me…. I cannot even fathom.
I can say, “thank you “, and “I love you.”
I would say to Jesus thank you
Welcome to Your world, little one! Oh, how we have waited for You.
Thank you for coming!!! We are so glad you’re here.
Precious little baby! You are SO cute!
Knowing what I know, I’m not sure I could say anything ~ just stand in in thankfulness. The thought of a brand new baby being the Savior…it’s just overwhelming (literally brings tears to my eyes). The momma in me would want to tend to his every need, but I’m sure Mary was very capable 🙂
Thank you, Father!
“I love you, Lord!” ❤️
I finally see you, my LORD and my GOD! All praise to you for what you are doing.
Thank You Jesus! Help me to live a life of obedience to show how much I praise you for all you have given to me.
Thank you for coming, Jesus! I love you!
Praise your holy name, thank you so very much for your birth and my salvation, all my love your servant
Thank You!
From the cradle to the cross.
Thank you Lord Jesus for taking my place on the cross.
I love you Lord.
Thank you Heavenly Father for Love itself, which is You through Your Son baby Jesus! I love you.
Welcome precious Child of God!
Thank you precious one, for being the perfect gift for all, even me, I love you.
Welcome, Child of God!
I would say to newborn baby Jesus, ‘you are loved and such a precious little lamb’!
Why me, Lord? Why am I a sinner worthy of Your love. Thank you for loving me.
I pray that I may be worthy to welcome you into my heart!
Thank you for coming.
Can I hold you?
How cool would that be!
Hello my Savior!
If I were lucky enough to meet Jesus in the manger, I guess I would say “Welcome, we have been awaiting your arrival for a very long time!”
Welcome to the World, precious babe.
Baby Jesus, what a sweet, sweet baby! Thank you, thank you for blessing us with your presence and leading us to your, our Father.
I love you, Jesus.
The first words that come to mind are “Thank You!” Thank you for coming as an innocent baby, thank you for living a sinless man, thank you for dying in my place, thank you for rising to defeat death, thank you for loving and choosing me. Thank you because you didn’t have to.
Speechless.
I’m so glad you’ve come.
Thank you for coming Baby Jesus to save the world, including me!
Thank you God for this beautiful savior! Savior! He is Lord!
Thank you Lord Jesus. I love you and am forever grateful.
I would say, thank you this is the best gift I have ever received.
Wow! God! You are here! Welcome!
Thank you, Lord.
Thank you Jesus for willingly leaving your throne in heaven because of your great love for me. You came to pay the price for my sin and for the sins of the world so that we can be set free from our sin and shame.
I echo the thoughts and the words of the hymn writer that says, “There is room in my heart for thee.!!” Praise you Jesus, you are my refuge, my strength, my strong deliverer, in You I trust. I have come to worship you this day!! Thank you for accepting me into your family.
I honestly think I would be speechless. I don’t think I could get a word pass my tears.
Emmanuel God with us! Thank You Jesus for coming to earth!
I just bow down in awe and worship Him!!!
Thank You Jesus for Coming!
Thank you
Thank you for coming to this world to save us.
Your are perfect and I love you for all you will do for the world.
I hope that I would bow down as the shepherds did. And sing with the Angels: Glory to God in the Highest!
Jesus, please be safe! How could you come here when it is so dark and dangerous!? How can this be? But, oh how we need you, so Savior, please be safe! And hurry, we are in a lot of trouble!
How precious and wonderful you are.
Precious little Lord
Your little fingers hold my hand
Thru the Word we know you are the promised one- God’s Holy son
Let the light of your love shine as I share with all I see – you are here precious Lord! .
probably speechless with many tears
Thank you baby JESUS for coming to die on this earth and wash my sinful spots in my heart, so I can praise you, express my gratitude, and live a life according to your will.
Oh precious baby, you will change this world.
Thank you God for your promise to safe us thru this precious baby!
God with us
I don’t think I could find words but bow down.
Thank you can not even begin to explain the appreciation that I have for You leaving heaven to come so that we could have eternally life through You!
Blessed be our Savior! Your servant is willing. Please guide me!
welcome to Your world!
“Oh, precious, beautiful One,” as I would reach out to touch His little hand.
Thank you for bringing HOPE into the world.
Thank you for the sacrifices that You are going to make for me.
Holy, Holy, Holy as I kneel 🙏
I would say “thank you” , but actually I would also ask Mary if I could pick Him up and hold him.
I would hope I would be able to do better than they did when He was born those 2000+ years ago. I hope I would tell Him how much I love Him for loving me first.
I think I would say, “oh my, what a miracle, thank you, God for sending us Jesus, our Savior.” When actually I would probably be absolutely speechless!!
Welcome Jesus, my Savior. Happy Birthday. Thank you for coming to save this world, and me. I long to be your Sister in Christ and never disappoint or disobey you and God our Father. Amen.
You are finally here our wonderful Savior! Thank you Jesus!
Welcome to the world, my savior and lord!
I am not sure what I would say. But I know I would be humbled and awestruck. I hope I could give Mary and Joseph blessings and tell them how much courage it took to have this child.
Your world, wee one. Your design, dear Master. Kisses to my King. Thank You for coming, O Emmanuel. And then I would probably cry!
If i could see Jesus lying in the manger – I would sweet Jesus, thank you for coming to share your life among us and guiding my path. For you know what is right for me.
Thank you Lord!
Your Coming Has Changed our World. Praise to You, Dear Kord and Savior.
Thank you. You are enough.
I would be so humble as I look down on that precious baby and say ” As a baby you may not know what sacrifices you will make but I can not thank you enough for all you will do for generations to come.”
Welcome Lord Jesus, we’ve waited so long. I’m awestruck and humbled to see what God will do with your life and our lives.
THANK YOU ! I would understand how Simeon felt
Luke 2:25-32
Oh, how precious! We’ve waited so long for You to arrive. We’re glad you’re here. I love You!
I don’t know if I could say anything.
Thank you Jesus for loving me, changing my heart and being my special eternal gift forevermore.
Though it seems not near enough I think I would simply say “Thank you” to that baby laying in the hay. Thank you for coming, thank you for what you will do here on Earth, thank you that you have come to die for me and set me free…THANK YOU baby Jesus!
Welcome Baby Jesus. We’ve been waiting for you. Life is hard, but with you here now, it is so worth it.
Jesus, you are going to grow up and save the world. Thank you for saving me. You took a fearful, angry, unhappy girl and made her into a woman of faith. Then, I would kiss his cheek.
Ohprecious one, howI adore you.
“You are love immortal”
Thank you! You are amazing.
What can I say to the King of Kings lying in the manger? “Holy, Holy, Holy!”
I would say …..THANK YOU!!!! Also Happy Birthday!
Welcome!!! We are so glad you came!!! Bless the Lord Oh my soul!!! If I could speak
All Glory and Honor to you Jesus, I love you dearly!
Oh precious little one … what king would come down from his throne?
So thankful for you coming. Praise be to Baby Jesus!
All I have is my heart to give to you ….. I gladly give it to you.
“What would you say to the newborn Jesus, nestled in a manger?”
I would say nothing. I would want to let the newborn Jesus experience the peace among Joseph and Mary and the animals surrounding Him.
What would I say to the baby in the manger ……I would say “I love you! Thank you, Holy one!”
Hallelujah! Thank You! Praise and honor to You! I need You & love You!
i don’t know that i would be able to speak….
maybe…”beautiful”
Tears would my eyes and my heart would leap for joy as I gaze upon His beautiful face. I know I would be speechless.
Thank you for taking on human form to save us from ourselves. To bring love, patience, kindness and mercy to all mankind. To teach forgiveness and love in a brand new way. My heart swells with love and awe in your presence!❤
Hello Baby Jesus, I love you and worship you. Thank you for coming to earth to save us from our sins. We praise your holy name.
I Love You Lord. Thank You for Your Everlasting Love, Immanuel, God with Us, with me!
I love you!
Thank You, Lord. May I always strive to point others to you.
I would be in tears as I am now, words would be few but they would be…I LOVE YOU, thank you for loving me.
What a sweet baby boy you are! You are so aborable! So cute! Praise God for sending you!
Liz: I am not sure if I would be able to speak to Him. The awesomeness of seeing this precious Child of God. I would probably lay prone before the King of Kings and worship Him.
I would love to read one of your children’s book at our Good News Club held each Tuesday after school, at my daughters public school. We have 52 children who come each week to hear sing and hear about Jesus. It is all done by volunteers and the club is sponsored by Child Evangelism Fellowship. What a privilege to bring the Good News to these little ones!
With tears running down my cheek, I would say Thank you! Then I would walk away, so Mary and Joseph could have some peaceful time with Him.
I would fall to my knees in awe of this Child and what He means to the world. And I would thank Him for His mercy and grace that forgave me and pulled me from the pit.
“….thank you….”
I would kneel in awe and bow my head (of course with tears down my face) and gently whisper “Welcome my King, my Saviour” “Thank you” and gently touch his feet. I would most definitely would look at Mary and tell her “Thank you for your obedience” and to Joseph I would probably hug him and shake his hand and declare blessings upon him. Just stand there and take in the whole scene.
Thank you for coming Lord Jesus. I am most grateful for your sacrifice.
I would thank him for being my eternal father and for always being there for me no matter what.
Welcome to the world, little one. We don’t deserve you …
I would say to the baby Jesus,
“ Thank you for coming down for ME. My awe and gratitude are more than my words can ever say. How I love you.”
When I bowed down to the baby Jesus in the manger, I would thank Him for leaving glory to become a sacrifice for my sins. His death and resurrection gave me redemption and eternal life, for which I am always thankful. I pledge to live a life of gratitude and teaching others about Him.
How can this be? Is this really you? The wonderment of it all would take my words away.
I suspect I’d not be able to speak! I hope I could say “Welcome. And thank you, my Lord and Savior.”
If I didn’t know He was the Savior of the world, “Let me just squeeze this little baby!”
If I did know like I do now, “Thank You for coming ♡”
What a wonderful blessing you are💕
I would say softly…”Baby Jesus, thank You for coming for me.”
Our precious Christ child! Oh how we adore you. You are perfect in every way. I wish I could have held you and loved on you. Thank you for coming to earth and give yourself a sacrifice for us. My heart is overwhelmed with your love for me.
I would say Dear Sweet Baby Boy, You are a gift from your Father, God. He sent you to save a world (and me) from their ugly sins. Seems like a enormous task for such a precious and innocent baby. How could I be loved so much? Thank you for being Who you are now and Who you will be as you grow up.
I love you,
Dawn
Thank you, Lord
Welcome baby Jesus. The world will never be the same.
Thank you, Lord!
I love you, Jesus!
May I hold you baby Jesus….the One who will hold me forever.
Alleujah! Thank you for coming. May I embrace you in my arms and in my heart?!!!
“Oh baby boy, Sweet Jesus, It’s REALLY you”! Bowing, my hand over my heart.
You’re the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Thank you.
I would look at him bow my head and say thank you.
What would I say to the new born baby?
I have waited for you….now your here…I am so happy.
“What would you say to the newborn Jesus, nestled in a manger?”
Welcome, I’ve been waiting for you! Thank you!
I’m not sure we’d be able to utter a word; we’d be awe struck at the wondrousness (??) of it all.
Welcome.
What would I say to the newborn Jesus in a manger? I am not sure that I would have words. If I were a shepherd and just saw a multitude of singing angels in the sky who directed me to the stable, I would be awestruck and filled with wonder. I would just gaze at him and look at his parents and ponder all that it meant.
Liz, I’m not sure I could even manage words at the awesome sight of Him! I’m sure through the tears streaming down my face, my lips would move – but would the sound escape? I hope I would break out in songs of praise!
I would probably be in awe and in a soft voice say, ” Oh Jesus, even as a little baby, I feel the presence of Almighty God here in your presence.”
And then, I know the tears would begin to fall from my eyes…as they often do when I am in His presence.
Thanks for this Liz. What a beautiful blog today.
Oh, Jesus, it’s You! You are here! God With Us! Emmanuel!
I would probably be speechless. I imagine that I would fall to my knees, with tears in my eyes, I would finally murmur, “Thank you, Precious Jesus, for coming to Earth to fulfill the Father’s plan for saving us from our sins and giving us hope for eternal life!”
I’m not sure I would have words to speak. When my children were born, and that first moment they were handed to me, I could only manage a “hey, baby”. I was so in awe of that little life. The thought of seeing Jesus Messiah as a babe? Overwhelming in joy. But if I gathered my thoughts enough to speak, I would say “Welcome, sweet holy One, to our world that You made with a word. Thank you. Thank you, with all my heart, for being born to die, that I might one day live forever with you. We do not deserve your goodness, but you are most welcome.”
I would say four heartfelt words…
“Thank YOU for coming!”
Sweet Jesus, Savior of the world, You are so beautiful to me!
Thank You for coming. Thank You for Your wonderful plan.
Thank You for loving us enough to die for us. May I hold You?
I know someday You will hold me. Sweet baby Jesus, Happy Birthday. I love You. Your face is ALL I need.
I am sorry that you will have to suffer for me-Thank you!
Oh, how I love you!!!
You are too wonderful for words but in actuality it’s not words You require, only obedience. Help me.
I would say to Christ in the manger, “Thank you for coming!” ” I wish there had been another, less painful way, for you and your Father, but our sins were so great and never ending. I’m still in awe of the miracle you are, a gift of love and grace that erased my sins forever. Please accept my humble but sincere thanks and gratitude. I am forever yours, Love, Jan
I would say, “Welcome to the world, Sweet Savior! We don’t deserve your gift and sacrifice, but we are so grateful that you chose to give up your glory to put on human form so that we can share in your glory eternally! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
I would be speechless; tears flowing, grateful heart, and a hand stretched out to touch Him!
How Great is our GOD!!!
Thank you for giving up all the privileges of heaven so that I can go there someday.
It’s overwhelming to comprehend being there to greet him, but:
“Welcome little one – I give Thanks to Our God for sending You to be with us. God is definitely LOVE.”
My Lord and My God & in my heart I would think The Word was made flesh & dwelt among us.
You have come…for me.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, there’s just something about that name! Oh, how beautiful you are, Savior of the World!
I honestly don’t think any words I could manage to utter would be fitting for the birth of our Savior. My heart would burst with joy upon seeing Him, and tears of joy would flow!
I would be speechless. A new baby boy born to save the world.
You are the most beautiful baby I have ever seen.
I love you with all my heart!
Welcome precious Jesus our Messiah. Thank you for coming for us.
What a gift! This baby boy is a real human being and also fully God. Thank you for your love and coming to save us.
thank you for your insights and reminder to be Joyous and Praiseful (?) especially at this time of year. What would I say to the newborn Jesus? I would probally be in too much awe to say anything except ¨thank you¨through my tears.
I love that you chose to come into this world as we do. I thank you for your everlasting gift. To know that you, Lord of all nations made the sacrifice. I love you!
Sweet Baby Jesus. You are perfect. You are planned and You are the plan for the world. Thank you for coming to bring me peace and hope.
Thank You Lord Jesus for loving us so much ; to die for us. I will make blankets for babies who have no one to make blankets for them. 🙏
Precious Jesus, I am humbled by your birth. Thank you for coming to save me from our sins, to be my Prince of Peace, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God. Thank you for coming to show me how to love, for showing me the Father, and for bringing me eternal life here on earth and in heaven. May my life glorify you each day. I humble myself before you, and give you all I have today. Jesus, my Savior and King.
You are SO faithful, Lord, and You finish what you start. Thank You, Almighty God. ❤️❤️
Hi, Kathryn!
You are my beloved and I share your love to my grandchildren everyday. Oh blessed Jesus so sweet and small. I know what is coming for you but I will share your news everyday to anyone. Love oh blessed Jesus!
Sleep tight, for you are destined for greatness
Thank you!!!!
To an imperfect world, you our Saviour have come…perfect
I’d say, “You darling boy! You wonderfully kept promise of our Father.” And I might kneel by the manager, despite the messy around me, lean close, and plant a kiss on His forehead!
You precious baby; oh how I love you.
Being full of awe, I don’t believe I would be able to say anything. I would have tears of joy and excitement.
I would thank him for his unselfish love for me
Your insight into the scripture is the obvious product of intimate communion with the Author – who is also the Finisher of your faith and mine — the great Storyteller, who makes every principle relatable and every promise ours. My maternal grandmother had the gift of storytelling. I sat hours at her feet as she relived time and tales of life and her own journey through the Word. Thank you for that kind of peace — #atHisfeet #inHisarms, #rememberingthepeace.
(I see below you ask for website — mine has fallen into disrepair — but your words inspire me to suit up and energize with a new vision in 2020.)
Beautiful!
